You might want to call L&D to see.....usually you can't have anything after midnight. They do this just in case you have to have an emergency c-section....

They say not to eat in case you need an emergency c-section....but I was induced with my daughter. I had lunch then went to a Dr's appt at 1:00 and was immediately sent to the hospital for induction because my BP was too high.....and I didnt have any trouble. But they wouldnt let me eat while I was there :(

I ate breakfast before I was induced and I was SO glad that I did. It was 10 hours from the time the induction started until my son was born and they wouldn't allow me to have anything but ice chips til I had him.

Chances are you might end up throwing it all up during labor. The pitocin really gets things running, and if you are deciding to get the epidural, it can cause some nausea. I would probably if anything, eat some toast and stick with something light. Dont for for the pancakes and sausage. Try some clear fluids. Juice, jello, broth. Things like that.

My doctor's didn't say anything to me about not eating. I went in at 6 a.m. and had some light breakfast before hand. Once you get there though, they won't allow you to have anything, so chow before you get there, hehe....but if you're really not sure, give your doctor or the hospital a call.

I was induced with my daughter. My doc said to call L&D before I went in. They told me to be there in an hour, to take a shower and have breakfast first. I ended out having a fruit smoothie. I went in at 7:30a and had Summer at 2:50p. It wasn't too bad, I wasn't dying of starvation and I wasn't overly full. And yes, I had the epidural. However, please be aware that every onereacts differently to anestesia. It doesn't bother me (epidurals, locals, general, whatever). But some people have bad reactions and end out throwing up from it. If you're sensitive to drugs, don't eat, you'll regret it.
The best bet is to call and ask. Different hospitals have different policies.

I'm glad I didn't eat anything for 2 reasons

1...I wound up puking anyway and I'm glad I didn't have any food in there.

2....I needed an emergency c-section, so it was one less thing that I had to worry about.

My Dr hadn't told me not to eat, but I didn't eat after midnight. Believe me, once the pictocin kicks in, the last thing you're thinking about is eating!

Good luck tomorrow!

EAT!!! You don't know how long the induction is going to take especially if they're starting from "scratch". I ate the morning of my induction at 7am. I was induced at 2pm and didn't get to eat anythign untill 8am the next morning. They most likely will not let you eat while you're in labor.
