Extremely tired after shots? Baby Gaga # 1 child; El Valle, Venezuela 17 posts

My son just had his first set of vaccinations yesterday and since then has been extremely tired. He's usually very active and alert but now all he wants to do is sleep. He's not getting excited like before and everytime I touch him or pick him up he gets upset. Is this normal? I'm down South visiting right now so I didn't take him to his regular doctor and the one we saw yesterday didn't tell us what to expect. After doing the regular check-up stuff, the doctor left andthe nurse came in and gave him his shots. She told me to get him dressed and walked out. I didn't even get a chance to talk to anyone cause they were busy seeing other patients.

It sucks but it's normal. Sydney has had two rounds already and we have another one in 3 weeks. She's always outta whack for a couple days afterwards.
Just remember any temp above 100 call the Dr. :)

Ok I feel better now. Thanks Mamas! He actually had a fever a few hours ago - a little over 100. I gave him some tylenol and just put himin a onesie to cool him down and it went away within 15 minutes. I'm going to be watching him closely though tonight.

yes my girl is so against daytime naps, so after she got her shots and slept like crazy...i was worried but doc says its normal and ok.

she had her shots tuesday morning, right after her shots she fell asleep for almost the whole day, waking up crying in pain so i would give her tylenol religiously and feed her and let her sleep. the next 2 days was almost the same..today she was back to her no napping self, so it took a few days for her to be back to normal.

she also had a low grade fever, it never got above 99.4 and that was okay too, if it gets over 100.4 though go in...

as long as your son is eating and having wet diapers i think there is no need for that much of concern...hope that helps hon.

My son slept as soon as we got home at 4pm and didn't wake up until 10am the next morning.
