Well, my baby boy is 10mos old now (his nickname is Wisin). I dont know what happened to his left leg, but it started last week, around friday.. When i pick him up and touch his leg a certain way he cries like I am hurting him really bad and I dont know whats wrong with his leg! I compared it to the other one, its not swollen or bruised. I felt his muscles and nothing feels out of the ordinary or broken or anything. I'm wondering if anyone had a baby that hurt itself and it was just nothing or what. I am taking him to the doctor either way tomorrow to make sure becausei feel like i'm causing him so much pain when i pick him up the wrong way and stuff.. :(

Hey! My little boy just turned 10 months old yesterday and I am due in September too! Anyway, does it seem to bother him if he is walking or crawling around? JW It could be a muscle cramp or maybe even because he is going through a growth spurt. No matter what it is good that you are taking him to the doctors tomorrow. Hopefully, it isn't anything too bad. LOs are soooo resilent anyway though. Good luck and let us know what you find out!

Thanks for your help. He didnt get immunized recently, the last shot he got was the 1st booster for the Flu - he needs his second but he is on Albuterol treatments because of his cough right now. He was starting to crawl on his hands and knees, but he hasnt been doing that recently, just the low crawl where he pulls himself across the floor really fast. And he was pulling himeslf up on stuff but he's been not doing that because his leg hurts. When i put him down to lay sometimes it hurts him, so it could be his thigh/butt area. I wonder if the doctor will have anything to say.

Like I said before, hopefully it is something simple. I am with the previous poster, if his pedi tells you it is nothing and you know it is, ask to take to another doc in the practice or maybe even talk him to the ER. It might not be nothing, but then again what it is something bad that you let go. I am sure it isn't, but you get what I mean. Good luck!

unexplained bone pain can be a first symtom of Leukemia.
by no means am i saying he has that. but you may want to do a little research on childhood leukemia and rule out any any other symtoms.

my 3 year old was tested for Leukemia thismorning. Its looked at by just a simple blood test and smear. if your concerned after researching it, just request it be done.

bless you. im sure its just something simple. trust you instincs mama!

My son has issues with the muscles on his legs. Everynight he complains that his legs hurt so I give him some tylenol and give him a massage. My husband had the same issue when he was a kid and had surgery because of it. I totally have medicines from across the border to help in any thing like this. What I use is a palmade called "Mamisan", it works like BenGay or Tiger balm and cures his pains right away, try a massage after his bath before he goes down for the night and he will fall asleep.

My oldest gets leg pains from time to time. I think its growing pains. My husband used to get them when he was younger. Sometimes a lack of potasium can cause leg pains. Try giving your baby some bananas. You can give him small pieces of a banana, or mash it up for him if your not comfortable with giving him pieces of it.

Well here is the news. I went to the doctors yesterday and she pretty much was really concerned. I told her if you try to bend his knee and push it back towards his hip, he screams and starts crying, well she did, and she witnessed that. I had to proceed to get labs done on him- blood cultures, so that they could see if there was some kind of infection in his hip. Or if his white cell count was off and if there as anything in his blood they could detect for any other problem. Luckily, his labs came back fine. She also had me go to get X-rays done on his leg (hip, knee, and ankle). I was really upset because I had to leave the room while they did the X-ray (since i am almost 3months pregnant). The X-rays came back normal too! So then since she was still concerned about it she send me to an orthopedic, and he said that since the xray and blood was fine, to keep an eye on the baby and make sure he doesnt look 'sickly' or start running a fever- because that would mean he had some kind of bad infection. But the baby is acting normally, playing, talking, laughing, .. just not crawling on that leg or trying to stand up like usual. SO BASICALLY they gave me no help whatsoever except tell me nothing is broken and he doesnt have an infection. But then what coudl it be!? So i am supposed to keep an eye one him, and bring him back for a followup on friday. I hope he gets better. :( .

 Well.. I went back to the doctor today. The pain in his leg hasnt gotten any better. This time the orthopedic took xrays and granted he seems like a good doctor. We found out that its the baby's knee not his hip that bothers him. So they X-rayed his knee. And the bad thing about knees is that if there is a break it is heard to tell (supposedly = that is what the doctor said). So he thinks that it might be broken, but since he didnt see any signs of healing on the x-ray, he wants me to keep an eye on his knee still, give him infant ibuprofen, and take him back again on Tuesday. HOPEFULLY if it is stil hurting the baby thi bad, they put a cast on it or something! because everytime he bend it by accident he cries really hard. And i feel like shit when it happens like i can't do anything to make him feel better. The thing im really upset about is that i KNOW he didnt hurt it at home because i am constantly watching him. But the people at the daycare says they didnt see him hurt himself. (so im thinking maybe when they were paying attention to one of the other babies it happened!). I dont know, i have to get to the bottom of this knee pain he has. Its killing my heart because I know he hurts :(.

Jo Jo- Poorbaby! Poor momma! I wish hoping that they would have toldyou something by now. Hopefully, on Tuesday they will puthis leg in a cast to helppreventhim from accidentally bending it. If he is crying that bad, it really has to hurt him when he does. It makes me teary-eyed just thinking about it! Ugh! Please continue to let me know how he is.Thanks!
