I was induced for medical reasons with my first daughter, then induced the second time just becasue i was 4 days overdue and doctor suggested it....this time i would like to try to go into labor on my own.....what are the chances of that happening before an induction is needed? They only let you go 2 weeks over right?

Ladies, with more than one child - did you go into labor on your own with one and not the other? Both? how far along?

I went into labor with all 3 of mine naturally. My water broke with my first at 37 weeks. With both my girls I had them at 39 weeks....contractions started on their own. I did however walk alot in the end and drank raspberry leaf tea. No idea if either one really helped or if it was just time.

My water broke at 39 weeks but I didn't progress AT ALL so I had to be induced anyway. :( And it sucked. I hope to go naturally with my next, too.

i soo want to experience my water breaking on its own(as werid as that may sound) or if it doesnt break on its own, to at least have labor start on its own! I've just heard so many ppl say that induction labors are soo much worse, so i'd like to see the d ifference!

There is a HUGE difference. My induction started at 5am...contractions started at 9ish and got bad by around 12pm....was in TERRIBLE labor for about 10 hours...got my epi at 10pm because I was only at a 2 after all that time...had him at 10:55pm...it was sooooo hard.

But with my second, It was sooo much better. I was doing laundry all night and me and the husband were fighting because I was hurting and bitchy and whatever. Well him and my little guy went to bed and I finnished up, went to bed, but not really. I was having major cramping that I thought would go away when I was rested but it just kept getting worse and worse....I finally woke him up and told him we need to go, so we went to the hospital and they admitted me...it took me like 2 hours to fill out the paperwork because I was contracting so bad...my labor was sooooo much faster and shorter the second time....they still had to break my water but I was so proud that it happend by itself....I was schedualed for induction the very next day and didnt even need it :) :)

thats great! I've had a weird feeling this baby was gonna come early this whole pregnancy, soooo maybeee that means she'll just decide to come on her own since shes huge already! LOL, shes gonna run outta room.

I go back on wednesday to check her measurments again since she was measuring 23 days ahead and the dr said she has a bigger head and in the 90th percentile... just strange for me since my other 2 girls always measured on the small side. We shall see i guess :)

Nobody can FORCE you to be induced. Even if you're over 42 weeks...they can't tie you up and drag you into the hospital. You have to consent to it. If the doc is pressuring you ask for a non-stress test to check on things.

My mother's best friend had ALL of her 8 kids at 44 weeks! Some people are slow cookers.

OH MY!! I dunno if i can handle 44 weeks! LOL, im about to need a wheelchair as it is, this sciatic nerve crap is horriblee!!! I'm willing to go 2-3 weeks over as long as baby is okay, but right now she's measuring pretty big so i dunno how long they'll let me go past due if shes going to be a big baby. I'm used to smaller babies! below 7lbs... but i know yor body is supposed to be able to handle up to 11lbs i think vaginnally? unless the head is to big which my dr says my babies head is on the larger side already! Sooo, hopefully everything will just work out for me and my body will be nice and cooperate with me and go into labor without assistance! :) i am hopeful

I feel ya on this one! I can barely walk too....I often have to use a motorized cart at the store or wheel chair. If you haven't already, chiropractic care can REALLY help with these issues.

Anyway, with my first I had an ultrasound the day before she was born....they said she was over 8 and a half pounds.....nope, she came out at 7lbs. 7oz. which was inflated because of the IV fluids....so don't let the whole "big baby" thing scare you. Ultrasounds and such are often a pound or two off.
