Since yesterday he has been limping around on his back leg, and won't stop nawwing at his foot...I'm going to see if my dad can come check his foot out tomorrow, since no vets are open on sunday(because its utah) and we would have to pay about 5x the amount for the vet to see him on a Sunday vs. A normal day, ...
But until I can get him seen what should I do...???

Tia!!
This is a slight post and run,
Since I'm on my cell phone, but I wll check back asap.

It's probably not broken if he's gnawing at it. He might have something stuck in the pads of his foot. Have someone help you and hold him still while you look. Check the pads of his foot and between his toes. If there is something there, like a splinter, a thorn, or something of that nature, just use some tweezers and pull it out. Clean it with a little peroxide and he should be good as new.

If he is gnawing at his foot, he might have stepped on something and it's stuck in his foot. Look over his pad and toes.If you don't find anything, keep him confined to a small area and off the foot as much as possible until you can take him to a vet,

If you realy think it is broken then you need to pay 5x's the amount to get him looked at. I hope you would not make your kids wait till Monday to go to the dr.

If you think it is just twisted or sparing then until you get the dog to a vet you need to ice it and keep the dog from walking on it.

Is this swollen? How is the dog acting is he acting normal but licking his foot or is he acting in pain and not eating and making whimpering sounds?

We searched in his fur for over an hour for something, if you touch the top of his leg, he is fine, but when you get down close tohis actual foot, he starting crying and whineing and trys nawing at it again,( I was told that's what dogs do, it something happens to them)...I'm almost tempted to give him baby tylenol.

It could be sprained, me and him were rough housing the other day, he is still eating and drinking just fine, like he normally would still getting on furniture, and playing with his squaky toy...cuddling and everything, he just whines or crys when I touch his foot... or my so touched his foot... we also have some very large rocks in our backyard, cuz were trying to revamp it so its nice, and he runs through it, he could have hurt himself there, while playing in the backyard...

What type of dog is hi. This matter a little because some dogs, like I have a Pitt Bull and a Rottwiler have a high pain tolerance so they can have something very bad wrong with them and not sown much pain.
How ever other dogs like Chihuahua do not have as high of a pain tolerance and will show an injury easier. A lot of breads of dogs don't show pain easily like humans do. So that always must be keep in mind.

If something happens and you are trying to decide if this is for the emergency vet of if they can wait till morning vets often recommend that they can wait if they are still eating and drinking and going to the bathroom and acting "normal". If they stop eating and drinking it is a sign they are very sick

Yeah he is still eating and drinking plenty..and even jumping on furniture...he seems fine until you touch his foot, he is still putting a little pressure on his leg as well, just not like he would before.
He is also a border collie australian shepard mix
This was more of the advice I needed soo thank you...

Hum.. This dose not sound like a break... I guess it could be a fracture. But not a bad break. They are a lot like humans in a lot of ways and they can go into shock and die from things like broken bones.

I think if it was a bad break like that he would be acting in more pain. Not eating and things like that. Also it would get very swollen.

So if you have looked and could not find anything poking him and can't find any cuts then I say watch him tonight and see if he seams to get worse or better. If he gets worse (stop eating or drinking) take him in. If he gets better it could just be a twisted ankel.

Also they can pull out there toe nails and that can hurt them so check the nails out.
They can also get cysts and cancer and things on there toes! So that is something that would creep up and then start to hurt them. My dog has cancer and she eats normal.

So watch for tonight and see how the night goes. If you are still worried in the morning then call your emergency vet and they will help you decide if you need to come in or not

Good luck
