I took my son back to the dr for the 3rd time this week and this time she said that his lungs sounded weezy and she wanted to do a breathing treatment every 6hrs for 24hrs then every 4-6 hrs or when ever he coughs badly for 7 days then take him back to the dr. Well she had me go to the hospital and have a chest xray done to see if he had bronchitus or pnemonia. Well she called me back later and said that the xray showed no sign of either one but to still do the breathing treatment as directed. So my question is what could make a babys lungs sound weezy?? She never gave me an explanation as to what he had. Any of you ladys had this happen?? TIA

Even though it didn't show anything, it still could be some type of upper respiratory infection.

My Son had bronchiolitis at 5 months old (not bronchitis) and had to do breathing treatments every 4 hours. He was weezy, and ubber congested.

What kind of breathing treatment? was he term? did he have any meconium? My 5th child was 3 weeks early and had some weezy lungs and ended up with broc at 9 months we spent three days in the hospital...he truned grey. He is now fine at two but does seem to have some allergies I do notice he gets a bit weezey around moist places. He has a thing with a mask (the name just went right out of my head!) Good luck momma

He was term, the meds I have to put in the machine is called..Albuterol. And they didn't tell me anything about meconium so Im guessing he doesn't have any? And the dr said that if he had Ashma it would show up on the chest xray..Sorry this is the first time Ive dealt with this, my daughter never had to have a breathing treatment.

Is there a oiture problem or old mold in your home? or do you have lots of inside plants? sometimes the spores can cause problems breathing....boys lung mature slower than girls lungs so that is why boys tend to need these treatments more often. Yes that is what my son had....

Our home was just completely remodeled and we have no plants. I just can't think of anything.
