My Unassisted Birth Story- LONG and Graphic with pictures Username_____ 2 kids; Las Vegas, Nevada 9722 posts

3 months later and I finally wrote my labor story.
*this is an unassisted birth story, if you don't like it, don't read it and keep your negative comments to yourself*

Let me start from the beginning. My desire for an Unassisted birth came with my first pregnancy when I read a book by Laura Shanley called Unassisted Birth. After that I constantly researched how to do it and what I would need. I was living with my uncle at the time and knew he would never let me do it, but I still kept it in my heart. When I was pregnant with Dylan, my first, I felt great but I never connected with my doctors. I dreamed of having an Unassisted childbirth (UC), but that never happened and it was a letdown.

Congrats! :D

But are you really going to eat your placenta?

I put it into smoothies. It stopped bleeding and brought my milk in sooner. I healed very quickly too.

That was beautiful to read. I can't imagine how exhausted you must have been but still found the strength to nurse your newborn AND your toddler.

Although, despite having heard of it before, my face literally went like this  about the placenta part. I know people do it but it just made me do a double take.

You must have been! It was really amazing to read that, everything was written with so much detail I felt like I could really picture the birth.

Haha yes you did. Maybe because it was placed so perfectly into little ice cube trays b/c the actual pictures of the placenta didn't bother me at all :)

Does the baby get colostrum when you are tandem nursing? How does that work?
