I never really liked salt, never salted my food. Now that I'm pregnant I crave it. I should probably ask my OB about it, but I'm in the middle of switching because he doesn't listen or anything. So I'm stuck until I get a new doctor.
Whenever I crave it, I just sprinkle sea salt on cucumbers and eat it. It's safer then table salt, and I figured the cucumbers have plenty of fluid in them, but it still worries me.
I found myself at Pal's (local restaurant here) order two large fries. They use tons of seasoning salt, most people can't eat 'em.
It usually means that you're lacking it in your diet.
I had crazy salt cravings throughout my pregnancy. I'm not sure if it means anything = but, nothing was wrong with me! :)
I know I can't get enough of it either. I actually took my blood pressure yesterday just to check and make sure it is not rising. But I add salt to almost everything. I even went so far as to buy those little lemon-lime-salt packs you get from the gas station and people sometimes sprinkle it into their beer just for the salt. I am going to talk to my doctor about it on monday when I go.
im not sure if it means anything..... but you just need to eat it but add water to ur diet too.
According to the old wive's tales, craving salt means you're having a boy!
you need more salt because of what you are building inside of you! Any doctor will tell you to definitely not restrict salt in your diet when you are pregnant. but within reason of course, you dont want to go crazy on salt. but definitely dont restrict it... i read somewhere that building tissue and organs takes sodium.
Women get all kinds of cravings during pregnancy. I've hated onions my whole life...but when I was pregnant with my last child, I had to eat them with everything! Cooked of course...raw onions are just nasty. Just be careful not to consume TOO much salt. Especially towards the end...too much salt can make ya swell up like a ballon! And that can cause some issues...and a lot of uncomfortableness.
Theres also a bunch of foods I used to love...and couldnt eat while pregnant...and still cant eat. Like for instance, eggs...hot peppers...anything spicy. I used to love all that...now I cant even smell it anymore. And my son is almost a yr now.
