Speech & Comprehension delay??? Natasha. 2 kids; Tennessee 2212 posts

My almost two year old does not seem to understand danger or basically anything at all. If you were to tell him to put a block in the bag he wouldn't know what to do unless you showed him several times. He tantrums frequently to the point he deliberately hurts himself, he's had butterflys on his head twice now....He is a very good visual learner and mimics things after seeing them quickly.

We have had his hearing checked and he passed the test, but he does act like a hearing impaired child. His speech and sensory therapists have entertained the thought of autism. He shows some signs of it but not all of them and not always.

One of my friends suggested maybe his left temporal lobe may be damaged??

any help would be greatly appreciated, TIA!

Sounds like Autism. My son was did not comprehend well before he started therapy. He has high functioning Autism. They were thinking Aspergers but he is so good socially they are still baffled.

Well the high functioning autism was described to me is that they function like normal children just at alower level. I mean what do u think that he does thats not typical of a child with autism.
