Yes, it's normal. I get braxton hicks a lot anyways. With my first pregnancy, I got them all the time! This pregnancy I seem to not get nearly as many. But especially after being intimate, it's normal. I wouldn't worry unless they were hurting or something (and the pain would need to be from the contraction itself, not from it squishing the baby, which can get painful too!).

I think that's my biggest worry is that they are so painful. I got a few with my first but never after sex. And so this pregnancy is so much different and painful!

what kind of pain is it? how would you describe it? I have had some that are quite painful, but they're painful in a different way than from an active labor contraction. but some women have early labor issues. did you go natural with your first (do you know what labor feels like)? How does it compare? Braxton Hicks shouldn't be painful...unless the pain is from the baby and your insides being squished! Sometimes that would get very painful for me, especially if the baby was in a weird position. But again, it felt different than a labor contraction.

Oh, and sometimes with the BH, especially after sex, I will feel a lot of cramping pain on my lower front belly. It'll make it hard to move very much for a little bit. I don't know if that is what you're feeling, but that is normal too. If it feels like labor, I would go get it checked out just to make sure it's okay!

BTW, I'm 26 weeks too:-) Due Oct 8th.

my first labour was intence (i was incuded and went from 1 cm to 8 cm in an hour) so currently not even close to that and its not like labour by engulfing my entire uterus. its more so in the front and sides. and yes its hard to move. its very comforting knowing im not the only one who's gone through this!
Im 26 weeks and due Oct 9 with a girl! (very exciting we will have one of each!)

Wow, that had to be crazy labor!! I know many people think fast labors are easier to deal with than super long labors, but from my experience, my fast labors were fast & furious. Way more intense and hard to manage! My long labors were going to kill me from exhaustion, and while very painful - definitely not so overwhelming. Then there's my midwife who had a four hour labor & only had two painful contractions. I want a labor like that. But your labor sounds like it was pretty crazy!

I'm totally off topic! Glad you're feeling more okay about it now. I think those pains are from ligaments sometimes. Mine are sharp, crampy pains. The joys of pregnancy! Congrats on the girl:-) We're having a girl too. She'll be our 4th girl, but our 5th baby. Our second is a boy. fun to have one of each. :-)

So I talked to my dr. And im no longer allowed to have sex because of the risk of premature labor in my case. Its not that way for everyone but iv been getting really bad braxtons during the day that have no known cause (sex food or exercise) probibly stress. Lol thank u all for ur advice and personal experience, helped me feel better!!!
