Bleeding after cervical check. 3.24.10☀9.10.11☀12.12.14 Due December 12 (girl); 2 kids; 2 angel babies; Oregon 3490 posts

I know it's ''normal'' to cramp or bleed after a cervical check, but how long afterwards does it usually happen? I never bled during my first pregnancy when I would get checked and this pregnancy has been high risk so my poor cervix has been checked multiple times already and I have never bled from it.

Monday night I lost two huge globs of my plug with blood in it, but I had also had sex over the weekend. Then Tuesday I had a prenatal appointment and my cervix was checked again. I didn't spot afterwards, but again lost more plug with blood in it Wednesday and then today everytime I use the restroom there is bloody mucus on the toilet paper.

Do you think the blood is from the cervical check or not related at all?

I would probably call the doctor. That seems a little long to be bleeding after a check. Better safe than sorry.

That's kind of what I thought. I expected to bleed within a few hours of getting checked, not days. I'm going to call the on-call advice nurse.

The only time I've bled is when I was in labor and dilating. So if that's the case with you, you'll definitely wanna know! Good luck :)

Well I'm already almost at 2 cm, part of the reason I'm concerned.

What did they say when you called? I know I'm 4 cm, and was told if I saw any blood to be on the phone right away.

They said if it gets heavier tonight to go to the hospital or if contractions get stronger. Also if it continues on to tomorrow then to call and be scheduled to be seen. I've had lot's of irregular contractions for weeks now, but the last few days I have had awful menstrual like cramps, but my cervix hasn't dilated more so they haven't been too worried.
