At what age did your child weigh 40+ lbs? Blue eyed Devil 1 child; Georgia 2890 posts

My son has just turned 3 and weighs around 33 lbs. I just want to know if its worth my mom buying a car seat that has a weight limit of 40 lbs. How many lbs do they generally gain at this age?

My step daughter reached 40lbs at about 3.5 depending on the scale.

Charlee will probably reach it faster. She is 20 months old and weighs about 30lbs

that should still last you a little while... idk my son grew rapidly the first yr, like @ 4 months he was 20 lbs & @ a yr he was 30 lbs... but then it started realllly slowing down. But by 2, he was 40 lbs... but he barely gains a lb a month, like maybe half a lb.

They usually gain pretty slow at this age. I wouldn't buy a seat that only goes to 40lbs at this stage though

It depends on the child really. My son is almost 18months and 33lbs.
Personally I would find a carseat with a higher weight limit so you can get more longevity out of it.

My daughter is 37lb, she'll be 4 in two months.

She's probably only gained 5lb this year.

Well, I have one and its much better, but my mom just wants one for her car thats not too expensive that she can use when she picks him up. I was thinking about the Cosco Scenera

Depending on your price range.
We have a Graco Natalius 3 in 1 and a Safety First Alpha Omega Elite and I love both of them :) But they are both more on the pricey side
