So this cycle on cycle day 8 i had the HSG procedure done after TTC since January.

HSG-Hysterosalpingogram

A hysterosalpingogram (HSG) is an X-ray test that looks at the inside of the uterus and fallopian tubes and the area around them. It often is done for women who are having a hard time becoming pregnant(infertile).
During a hysterosalpingogram, a dye (contrast material) is put through a thin tube that is put through the vagina and into the uterus. Because the uterus and the fallopian tubes are hooked together, the dye will flow into the fallopian tubes. Pictures are taken using a steady beam of X-ray (fluoroscopy) as the dye passes through the uterus and fallopian tubes. The pictures can show problems such as an injury or abnormal structure of the uterus or fallopian tubes, or a blockage that would prevent an egg moving through a fallopian tube to the uterus. A blockage also could prevent sperm from moving into a fallopian tube and joining (fertilizing) an egg. A hysterosalpingogram also may find problems on the inside of the uterus that prevent a fertilized egg from attaching (implanting) to the uterine wall.

My test removed a small blockage and didnt hurt at all. Slight cramp but nothing serious

BD the night of procedure after abstaining from cycle day 1 until HSG was completed and BD every other night after that, bd.gifbd.gifbd.gifbd.gif
Ovulated cycle day 14.

Today 14 dpo BFP!!!!!:lol:bfp.gif

I highly suggest anyone else having issues TTC for six months with no success go have this done. There is minimal cramping during he procedure. (the doctor will give you pain meds and antibiotics to take before during and after anyways)

I had a small blockage in my one exhisting tube and i think this may have been the culprit keeping us from conception for months.
So to all the ladies TTC I am throwing a little

your way.

My doctors want me to get one done if my husbands test come back okay. I mean honestly how was it? Some people I have talked to said it is painful and the cramps after are horrible and that the test is not a very comfortable thing to go through.

it wasnt painful. during thr procedure you have mild cramping and a bit after. nothing different from period cramps. the doctor gives you antibiotics and pain meds you start the day before, tajke the day of and the day after and if you're still in pain after call your doctor and they will call in some more pain meds.

Iv been ttc since january and i have one falopian tube left after an ectopic in 2002. the first step ttc baby #2 for us was to do this becuz my doctor had concerns of blockages in my exhisting tube. clomid was the next step.

Thank you. I feel amazing. Didnt feel sick or anything. all the other months ttc i swore i had symptoms and Af showed. even in may when i had a chemical pregnancy i was puking like crazy. this month my symptoms were only peeing alot and some cramping and i vomited once on 8dpo. now i just need to figure out if the lil one is a DD or DS. Yay. My lil boy has a sibling. i'm so excited.

I know this is an older post, but I was searching for posts about HSG tests, and I found this! It made me feel GREAT! I am having the HSG test done on Friday. We've been TTC #2 for 15 months now with only a chemical pregnancy to show for it. I really hope I am as lucky as you and I get pregnant this month! I'm also on Clomid, so I'm hoping with that and the HSG it'll get me a pretty BFP like yours!

Congrats on your pregnancy and thanks so much for posting this!!!
