ok so i have a 2 weeks old son and I have noticed a pattern and I have realized something since we have brought him home fromthe hospital he screams henever you put a diaper on him well at first I thougt he was being like most babies and hated being naked then I started to notice that his poor butt was turning beet red.... we have been using the same diapers that they used in the hospital Pampers Swaddlers heeven screamed when we would change his diaper in the hospital.... then last night we ran out of the swaddlers and I started using Luvs he didnt even scream when i put it on him and this morning bis butt isnt red anymore and looks alot better.... does this sound like a diaper allergy???? Has this happened to any one else???

I read that all babies are allergic to at lease one brand of diapers.. Stick with the ones that dont make him turn red. <3

How crazy...my friend just was talking to me about her 2 month old baby who is allergic to certain brands of diapers! The elastic part that goes on the legs make him break out. The doctor told her that yes, babies can develop allergic reactions to diapers! Once she switched brands, his legs cleared right up and he's perfectly fine!

Sonds like he could be allergic to them. My little girl is 6 weeks old and would get a red behind when using the swaddlers but never screamed, it may be the scent that is in them, I hate the way those smell, we are using huggies right now cause they were given to us at the baby shower and then we will switch to luvs cause I like those best and they are the cheapest, except for store brands and I hate store brand they never hold up for my kids.

my sisters son is allergic to pampers so its very likely, i use huggies and so does she and he has no problems with huggies, so if the different diapers help the rash then i would not use the pampers

my daughter had a severe reaction the the pampers.it took us a while to figure out that it was the diapers causing it.we went out and bought huggies diapers and zincofax (sp?) diaper cream and it cleared up almost instantly

Yup. My daughter couldnt wear white cloud when she was a baby. She got diaper rash every time. I put her in huggies and it went away. Used ONE white cloud and it came back. The only way to tell for sure is to use another pampers after the rash clears up. If you have a sppare one or knows someone who does, put another on him and if the rash comes back, its the diapers. Good news is that he might grow out of it. I can use white cloud pull ups on my daughter now without her getting a rash.

yeah I am making his dad take back the thing of swaddlers he just bought and I dont plan on using those again because of what happened it just makes me scared to try any other brand of diapers other than luvs lol....not to mention his dad was allergic to all disposable diapers when he was a baby so I am at least glad he doesnt have to go through that
