Elysia is El-iss-ee-ah, it's Greek, it means "blissful".

Alessia is Ah-less-ee-ah, it's Italian, it means "defender" (Basically the Italian for of Alexa, Alexis, Alexandra, another form of Alessandra).

I really like it, too - but I can just see SO nixing it because it has a Y int he middle.....he is so damn picky and random.

I think it would be between Noelle (ours) and Eleanora (his) or my middle name. Thoughts on knowingly naming your child a first name you won't use? You'd use their middle name instead. I usually hate it but it might be the only way to compromise. I hate my middle name; he loves it.
