Hello, I am due July 27th!!! I like the name Ayden. It's different in spelling which makes it more unique. The name I have for my daughter is Kamaleinoelani (k**a-lei-no-e-lani) It's Hawaiian for Beloved Child, Beautiful one from Heaven. LOL and that is just her first name. Yes I know my daughter will have a challenge when she is older. My family said with her whole name I will be putting my daughter through hell but like you said you chose your name for your son and well I could care less what others think haha. Good luck and Congrats !!

:shock::lol:

As anyone good at linguistics and phonetics? Does Cassie ever get on anymore?

I find it completely mind boggling that anyone would pronounce Corina like kah-ree-na. BTW has it listed as kah but is that just a regional thing? BTN has been wrong on a number of occasions with pronunciation according to its key. There is no comment left regarding the name as being pronounced with an ah sound. Forvo has no known pronunciation with an ah.

I'd like to get to the bottom of this, because so far all I can think of is this being a regional thing. I know southern/midwesterns LOVE to over exaggerate vowel sounds.

See, I agree.

Corina/Corinna I would say "cor-ih-nah".

Carina I would pronounce "kah-ree-nah".

That's the distinction I make when I see those two spellings.

Exactly. O and A are two distinct vowels sounds that I can't see how anyone would mix, unless for an accent.
