So I know that it is not good to take a hot bath during pregnancy but this late would it still have harmful effects on the baby or is it ok this late?? Sorry might be a dumb question but I think if there is one thing that I have craved this pregnancy its the just longing to take a hot bath lol.

As long as your skin isn't turning red, it's fine.

The biggest risk is during the first trimester.

it's fine as long as you don't soak for a long time and get your body temp up :)

At this point in your pregnancy it is perfectly fine. Your uterus can now regulate the temperature for the baby, so baby shouldn't get too hot. This is what my doc told me.

my midwife told me it was a'okay as long as I wasn't having super hot water and that the biggest risk was the first trimester =)

i read on this site, that your womb keeps babys temp normal...even in hot bath.

I've always taken hot baths. As long as I'm not sweating, I feel it's fine for the baby!

I would literally go bonkers without my hot baths. That is the only way I can get rid of the BH some days is to soak in a hot bath. And to me if it is not hot it is cold. The baby goes gaga for it when I get in one it is so funny to watch because I just pour water over my belly and she pushes way out for more. LOL Now I want a hot bath but I have to walk my daughter to pre-k here in a little bit.

A first trimester embryo/fetus has no way of regulating their temperature. It has been linked to various birth defects.

I heard because it raises the core temp of the baby and could cause a lot of problems, I even heard sometimes birth defects. That's why it freaked me out.

When I take baths I bring a huge glass of ice water with me to drink. You still sweat in the bath so you are losing some water, you still need to be hydrated and the ice water will help keep your body temp down to.
