Has anyone ever had a spinal block during their c-section? During my 1st c-section 4 years ago my epidural stopped mid surgery leaving me in excruciating pain and as soon as my daughter was delivered I was put under general anesthesia. This time around the Dr wants to use a spinal block instead but I've heard really bad things about them and I'm kinda freaking out. Can anyone offer me some help?

i had one and i'll NEVER have one again...
i got a spinal headache from it and thats the WORST kind of headache you can ever get.
i was in more pain from the spinal headache than my actual c-section...

I had both.
I intended to deliver her vaginally, so I got the epidural. She decided that wasn't going to happen and I got a spinal block before I went to the OR.
I couldn't tell you which worked better, since I went from epi right to spinal block.

I had a spinal block. Honestly, I hated it. I couldn't stand the way it made me feel, and since I have really bad anxiety, I ended up having an anxiety attack in the OR.

It basically paralizes you from the tits down. Mine wore off before they even pulled him out, so they ended up pumping me full of 50cc's of morphine.

I almost did. I was gagging really bad but they calmed me down before I actually did. It was horrible.
