I love his dark hair! That would be such a great combination.

I was really shocked that Will was born with as light of hair as he had, and now in the light it looks blonde and his eyelashes and eyebrows are blonde, so is his little arm hair. Haha. Didn't think I could have a blonde haired/blue eyed kid!

My son had a two vessel cord, so we expected him to be small...he was my (and our family's) biggest baby at 7lbs even!

Woot! Excited to be with you gals!! I've posted my labor story in the forums but I'll post it here as well. Congrats to the new families!

Wow, where to begin. On Tuesday, Sept 6, 2011, my husband and I went to Labor and Delivery at our local hospital as my contractions were steady and strong. Once at the hospital they of course seemed to dissipate. This is with weeks of early labor and being 2cm dilated and 30% effaced at the last Dr's visit. After being checked, they found my cervix was funneling and causing me to dilated incorrectly. The Dr gave me some Vicodin and had me head home to rest.

At 4pm in the afternoon, my husband woke me doubled over in pain. I took him to Urgent Care worried it was a gallbladder issue. As we waited for a Dr, his' condition upgraded to ER need. I drove quickly to the ER with him and let his' parents and work know he was not well. His' parents, boss, and I joked about me not now going into labor. Funny.

My DH was hooked up to an IV and sent to the waiting room after being checked and assessed. We sat there for a bit and I had to get up to use the restroom and grab a drink from the vending machine. As I stood I felt a small gush but shrugged it off. As I walked down the hall toward the vending machine I felt more come out and by the time I hit the bathroom, I was bleeding a little and gushing fluid. I waddled quickly down to the ER waiting room and told my DH he would NOT believe what just happened. I let the front desk ER nurse know my water had broken and she called L&D immediately for someone to come get me via wheelchair. I kissed DH goodbye and off we went. Sure enough once checked out, my water had broken and I was in labor at roughly 8:15pm.

My mother and best friend arrived a few later to help me along while DH's parents arrived to be with him. We kept up to date with one another via text and phone although just hallways apart. About 8 hours later DH arrived in my room with his parents and he was diagnosed with kidney stones. Poor guy. So we were the talk of the L&D unit that day.

All throughout Wed. Sept 7th, I fought to get my body into a good labor pattern. Nothing. So that early afternoon, late morning, I was strapped to Pitocin. I went 3-4hrs almost without any pain medication and tried to tolerate it via walking and labor ball. I also used the jet tub. Once the contractions came on one on top of the other and I was about to a 5, I opted for the Epidural. It was helpful. My labor still progressed throughout the day but by 4pm that afternoon, I stalled into a 6, almost 7 with nothing. My Dr. was worried she was going to be too big a baby and this would not go well. For hours, we tried to get me to move and nothing would help. Despite the Epidural, I still felt everything down below internally. My mother decided to get me on my side and rock me. Throughout the day the Pitocin had to be increased and decreased because babies heart rate would dip into a danger zone. Things became intense and they had to hook up baby into internal monitors. We kept rocking away and soon I hit a 7. At 9pm, my Dr wanted to see more progress or other options wold be explored. I was determined NOT to have a section.

Around 10pm, my pain increased greatly. I went from a 7 to a 10 in a matter of a half hour and was fully ready to push and at a +1. I began doing small push grunts with the nurse to move her down. At 11:45pm I was +2 and Dr was ready to get this show on the road. I began to transition into full on pushing. We tried every position you can think of pushing. Knee to chest, sideways, squatting, the works. At 1am, my Dr. began to worry a little. However, he knew my wishes and stalled the OR Dr who seemed to me dying to get me in for a section. The nurses kept pushing me to keep going as well saying they KNEW I cold do it. At 2am, she was a +3 ... but kept getting stuck on my pubic bone. That's when things got really rough. I was in terrible pain and was exhausted from going on now almost 30 hrs of labor. I hadn't eaten since 11am Tuesday morning and was sick to my stomach. I couldn't stop getting sick. At 2:45am, my Dr said this was it. We either got this baby out or I had to section. I screamed out that I wanted to die and he winked at my mother (no joke) and said, "She's ready!" That was when my MIL and husband at my head yelled out for me to get mad and get her out! My best friend and mother took my legs and watched as she came close. I felt down to feel her head right there and I clicked. This was IT! I HAD to get my baby girl out safely and I would NOT section! I grunted and grabbed my inner thighs and pushed with every last bit I had. I wouldn't STOP pushing. This baby was there and I felt it. At 3am, I felt every amount of pain and pressure coming at me and knew she was almost there. Dr. got on his delivery gear quickly and sat up to snag her. I pushed with every last bit not caring what it took. I looked down to see him shimming her out of me and before I knew it, Annaliese was on my chest crying her eyes out ... okay so was I. They announced at 3:04am, she had entered this world finally after 31 hours of labor and 3 hours of pushing straight.

She was cleaned up, checked up and was 7lbs, 20in long. Come to find out, she was no big baby...she just had her hand up in her face when she was delivery and that is what got stuck. Little stinker. She was quickly brought to me for skin to skin and DH and I were just in love.

The labor was long, the story was nuts, the delivery was intense...but we could not have asked for a more precious little girl. We are so very, very blessed to have Annaliese here with us.

guess I should post my actual labor story lol.

I went to the hospital on my due date September 5th 2011 for contractions about 3 to 5 minutes apart. I was really only going to see if there had been change to my cervix or not as I had been contracting frequently all weekend. I get here and of course no change. Still 3 1/2 cm, thin & Nicholas was not engaged. I go home frustrated as usual and in pain. I took ambien around 4 am to try and get some sleep. At 9 my phone rings its my doctors office. I answer groggily and they ask if I can come in to the office today ( I had an appointment scheduled for Wednesday) .. I agree and ask what time she said whenever works for you. I told her I needed to wake up some but would 11 be okay? She said of course. Dr.Williams said have your bags packed & ready.. "whats going on" I asked patty the nurse. She goes just come in at 11 and well see whats going on. Okay..
Get up shower get dressed and leave for the doctor. Get there and do the usual weigh in, blood pressure, all that jazz and wait on the doctor. Dr.Williams comes in and discuss's he for sure thought I would of had Nicholas this weekend and I was still pregnant. Obviously lol. He discusses something about trying to rupture my membranes.. and an NST scan to see if we have a reason to induce. ( My office did NOT believe in inducing til 41 weeks for no reason ) So I go okay... First he says hes going to check me to see if Ive progressed from last week when he checked me last. Ive been disappointed so many times I figure I havent but whatever floats your boat doc.
He checks me Im 4 cm. " Okay thats good enough for me! " I ask what does that mean lol. He goes Im going to augment your labor send you to L&D and hook you up to pitocin hopefully its fast!
Get to the hospital and get admitted admitting takes forever. Finally at 2:08 they do my iv with antibiotics in it and say theyll start pitocin in an hour.
3:09 pm Pitocin is started contractions are a bit toughter but Ive been doing this for 13 weeks I can handle this.
3:39 pm or so they up my pitocin. Holy crap I am in pain but again NOTHING I cant handle I have a high pain tolerance.
Around 4:15 or 30 I cant remember now they broke my water. I was still just a 4 when they broke my water.
Around 5 I was a 5.
Around 5:30 somethign I think I was a 6.
Jumped to a 7.
Almost an 8.
It was going by fast.
Then it got a little stalled. I stayed at an 8 from 7 til about 7:45 I was having intense contractions feeling like I needed to push but I wasnt dilated anymore. All of a sudden the next thing theyre slapping an oxygen mask on my face and shoving an internal monitor in me. Nicholas's heartrate was plummenting. He was descending too quickly into the birth canal and it was stressing him out. They had oR prepped for an emergency csection and neonatal ready. Doctors were everywhere and I was exhausted.
The doctor checked me after I would moan and yell during contractions I needed to push. Sure enough I did I was complete in 15 minutes or more I cant remember fully. I began pushing around 8:10 or something and had him out by 8:23. His cries.. oh my god.. his cries were the most beautiful thing I had EVER heard.
I did it all natural no epidural .. it was worth it.
8 lbs 3 oz 21 inches long. I am so in love and cant stop staring at him.
He has a head FULL of dark hair, gray blue eyes & just the cutest face ever.

<blockquote><b>Quoting Crlyheadedfck Is a Mommy.:</b>" why induction so early? if you dotn mind me asking. I was furthered a long lol I was 4 cm so they just gave me pitocin and broke my water for me."</blockquote>

My baby is measuring small so dr wants to get him out before its an actual problem. My daughter stopped growing at 36 weeks so my baby must just start to give up a little :(
