Losing too much blood? Rhyker♥Reagan 82 kids; Montrose, Colorado 19586 posts

I wasn't sure where to post this... soo, here it is.

How do you know if you are losing too much blood? Do you feel really dizzy?

I have been bleeding for 13 days now and have been dizzy off and on for the last week. But, tonight it has been really bad. If I close my eyes then open them everything spins and I have a hard time keeping my balance. It's starting to scare me.

At first I thought it was a side effect of the prometrium, but I have been off that for two days now.

Are you pregnant, or just on your period?

Miscarriage. I started bleeding the same day I got my first positive, but my levels still were rising. My levels started dropping Sunday and the bleeding has only gotten 10x worse.

Losing too much or just blood loss in general? I have this death fear that I'm going to pass out or something and no one will know.

Are you pale? Are you really tired? Go into the bathroom, look into the mirror. Press onto your cheekbone, like under your eye. When you lift away, can you see where you pressed your finger down?

If so... those are signs you may be losing too much blood and anemic. Talk to your doctor.

You can see it, but it goes away pretty fast. My doctor is a complete douche, but I think I will call me family doc tomorrow. Thank you.

I posted above... miscarriage. I am hypoglycemic, but it doesn't feel anything like this when my blood sugar goes low.

Yikes. I hope that's not the case. I wasn't very far along at all and am passing a ton of clots. I've never bled this much or passed this much with any of my other miscarriages.

With what you stated with the clots and seeing on your cheeks... you are probably anemic and losing too much blood. Have you been to the Dr yet with this miscarriage? most likely, its probably from being anemic. It sounds like how I was with developing uterine polyps. Hopefully, thats not what is going on with you. Though, they can develop after a miscarriage. How big are the clots?

You need to lay down, drink LOTS of water. Eat well, keep your feet elevated, get some sleep, and call the doctor in the morning. Keep us updated. For now, don't use a tampon, use a pad, and get some rest!

I don't have any pads :( I am currently downing a lot of water and about to hit the hay. The clots aren't too big, but I'd say every time I go to change my tampon there are about 3 of them that would equal maybe the size of a dime or a little smaller. I know I should be using pads, but I ran out.

I have been to the doctor. He was monitoring my levels because of my history with miscarriages but thats it. I will call in the morning. Thanks for all your help!

Since tampons are a little bit trickier to track just how much blood you are losing... make sure you write down the absorbency of the tampons, the brand, how often you are changing them (keeping a log might help), how saturated they are, and how big the clots are. I was advised to use pads with my polyps because it is easier to keep track of the clots and if they need to weigh the pads it's easier. Something about the irritation is less as well. Those size clots aren't too bad (at least for me... those are normal for my periods. Those are actually small, but if those are unusual for you... then make sure you tell your doctor!). So I wouldnt be too freaked out... because those aren't too out of normal range, ya know?

To make you feel somewhat better and not so scared... I was bleeding for a few weeks and thought it was a funky period. I finally knew something was weird when I went to the bathroom and almost passed out. Looked in the toilet and I shit you not... a lemon sized clot was in there. I was huge clots before then, but I finally realized "Oh hell, this is NOT right." I shakily went out of the bathroom and went "Mom... somethings wrong." Went to the doctor and found out I maybe had cancer, but it turned out to be noncancerous polyps. I had mirena placed to keep them away... but now thats just causing problems. Eeeek! Freaking hate this damn thing!

But sorry about your miscarriage :( :( Hopefully you get better soon, and hopefully you stop bleeding soon! But dont fret too much.... and get lots of rest!
