Okay so the night before I tested, and found out I was pregnant I had a dream I was pregnant with twin boys lol. I guess since we have two girls close in age the dream just kinda happened. Well today one of my friends tells me you are more likely to conceive twins while breastfeeding. How freaky would that be if I was actually pregnant with twins? Just a thought lol

Not true, seeing as it's harder to concieve period while breast feeding.

It would be cool but bfing has absolutely nothing to do with whether or not you have twins. Its all about whether or not it runs in your family...unless there are fertility drugs involved of course.

I don't understand how breastfeeding would increase your chances of conceiving twins.

Yes it is. More people that take clomid and do IVF have higher chances of not just twins but multiples all together.

I'm pregnant, and I'm breastfeeding. Once you start giving your child solids, and stuff, and they don't just constantly eat off of you pregnancy is extremely possible.

It has something to do with diet idk. Just stuff I read. I'm not saying it's 100% true, but they have it listed as a way to conceive twins.

There are two primary types of twins, Identical and Fraternal.

Identical twins occur when the egg splits after fertilization. To date no indication of a genetic link has been found. Anyone has a chance, though small, of having identical twins.

Fraternal twins occur when more than one egg is dropped during ovulation. This trait can be inherited from the mother's side of the family. Studies have shown that the chances are also increased by being overweight or older.

Yes, that may be true..but not true for making it more possible to conceive twins.

I didn't mean the fertility treatment part I meant the running in the family part. From what I understand identical twins aren't genetic and the only family thing that can cause twins is hyper ovulating in your mother and you inheriting that trait idk if that is true or not.

Get pregnant while breastfeeding. If you are breastfeeding another young baby when you get pregnant, this will also increase the likelihood that you will have twins. Experts believe this is because the lack of calcium in a woman's system has an effect on the egg during conception and ovulation.
