I'm 36 almost 37 weeks and I've had chapped nipples for a while. I've been using n****e butter so they've gotten a bit better recently my right breast developed a fever in the n****e after bleeding now my breast is red swollen has a lump and is causing me massive amounts of pain. I have an appointment Monday and I'm trying to hold out but I don't know what it is how to help the pain or if it's really serious...

Go to L&D. That sounds like mastitis.

Why not? If her n****e was at all cracked, bacteria has an entry point, and a mastitis infection can happen. She doesn't have to be postpartum/breastfeeding in order for mastitis to develop.

Her nipples were craked so it very much may be mastits. you dont have to be breast feding to get it.

Yep. It's just more common during breastfeeding, because of the n****e trauma that can happen with a baby latching.

I tought I could only get it from breast feeding too so I didn't know what to think. The pain has just gotten worse in the past few hours. I think I'll head to l&d thank you guys!

If you're finding it painful to shower due to water pressure, I would definitely recommend this compress:

It's called a Shower Hug. Super soft and protects your nipples from chafing situations.
