I will be 19 weeks along tomorrow and I just noticed blue veins going up my stomach starting at the hip on both sides. I am positive they are not stretch marks. Does anyone know what this is or experienced it?

Thanks in advance.

when youre pregnant the amount of blood in your body increases which makes your veins more visable, it sounds like that may be what youre seeing. Its also possible that they could be vericose (sp?) veins, pregnant women also experience those as well.

I had a huge blue "vein" on top of my belly button, even my dr commented on the "vein" and said that it was very prominent...it was a stretchmark!!! Ahh, it sucks lol, but those veins *might* be stretchmarks... you never know, even a dr was wrong about my "vein"!

It's completely normal and you'll just notice more of them soon...especially on the tummy and b**bs. It's due to your blood supply increasing and causing veins that weren't so noticeable before to increase in size.

I have the same thing and have had it with all my pregnancies. Not the most attractive thing but it goes away after you have the baby.
It's especially noticeable in fair skinned women....like me :D

Well, that's how my 1st couple of stretch marks started. Little blue veins that turned into dark red/ purple streaks! I know that your veins do become more prominent in pregnancy but these looked different from the get-go and sure enough they turned into badges of love! :-)

I didn't notice them with my son but I sure have one this time. It's almost where my linea negra was with my son only it's just my vein. It's blue as can be lol Ah well...nothing you can do :)

Im 19 weeks todya and I noticed them on my stomach yesterday. They dont hurt or anything. It like my skin thinned out and now you can see all my veins. Ive had them on my b**bs for a few months now so im not worried. My doc says its normal and its just from the increased blood flow.

I have those thick blue veins too, exactly where you do on the sides of my tummy. Not to mention on my b**bs!Im pretty fair, and i was thin pre-preggo, so I just figured it was because ofthat. It seems that they're normal, andyou're not alone!
