Just curious if anyone thinks its possible to push too hard when you're trying to have a BM & cause your water to break or put you into labor due to constipation?? I am having a horrible time with constipation this pregnancy & I'm afraid that I might end up pushing too hard one time & make myself go into early labor...

i feel that way some days..lol But no your water won't break unless it's just meant to be. Have you tried taking Colace that seems to help me.

I've never heard of anything like that happening but I also wouldn't say it's impossible.

I haven't taken anything yet. I hate the idea of going from being constipated to shitting my guts out haha. Is colace pretty mild? I've never had this problem with my two previous pregnancies, except after birth & my Dr. always gives me something for that...

yeah just take one and normally within 12 hours you can poop. I normally have the opposite problem at the beginning and end. But something around the 20 week to like 30 week mark it gets bad. I think this kid is kicking my intestines around so much that it's making it sluggish..lol

I know right? This is by far my most active baby in the womb! I'm pretty sure I could feel it moving, not just a little but a lot, at like 15 weeks! It never stops moving & I have never had such a problem with constipation! I will have to try Colace? Is it over the counter or what?

Hi there

Im a first time preggy mom to be. I had the same problem on and off in the begining and didnt want to take anything for it. (Dont want to medicate etc with baby in the oven) I was told to eat more bran. So I have a bowl of All-Bran Flakes (Cereal) every morning and the problem went away within a day or two! Im now almost 25 weeks and I havent had that problem again.
Just thought I'd give you my 2c worth. :)

I seriously feel like I'm pushing the baby down and down. Sometimes if I try too hard, I feel almost a buldge come out from my vaginal area....I think it's just me being super swollen + baby being super low.

But I don't understand how people say it's not possible. When I pushed my daughter out, I just pushed like I was straining extremely hard - it seems to work the same muscles or what not, so how is it not possible??? I'm no anatomy expert but I really don't get that.

I know right?! I mean I understand it would be pretty hard if the baby hadn't dropped yet, but like you said you use the same muscles to push the baby out as you do to make a bowel movement so it seems entirely possible to me. The only reason I'm concerned about it is because I'm only 29 weeks & the baby already feels really low. This is my 3rd & I have a tendency for very fast easy deliveries. If I didn't go in to get checked with my last when I did (i was unaware I was in full blown labor didn't feel a single contraction & I was dilated to a 6-7), I very easliy would have delivered at home or in the car! It only took two quick pushes & he was here! I'm just super paranoid that I'm not going to make it to the hospital this time around...

I've heard of someone pushing their baby lower with it - someone on here posted about it I think.

My baby is REALLY low. Baby has been engaged for awhile, then dropped even lower...doc even pushed baby back up during a cervical exam this week! If baby is that damn low then how is baby staying put during this? I'm confused.

He pushed your baby back up?? Thats just crazy! I just hope this little one stays put until it's time for him/her to come out. I'm not even close to ready for having 3 kids under 3 yet ha ha
