Red legs (look like a sunburn) at 37 weeks. ~ Account Closed ~ California 3088 posts

My legs (up to the top of my calf or knee) are red, I can press it and it makes a white spot like a sunburn. It doesn't itch or hurt. Earlier today both my ankles were itching, and they are a little swollen. Not sure what it might be or if I should be concerned since it isn't bothersome. I haven't noticed the redness anywhere else. I haven't used any new lotions or shaved recently. I will be 38 week on Sunday.

Do you have a laptop? Was it sitting on your legs?

I do have a laptop, but haven't been on it until a few hours ago. I first noticed it at work this morning around 8:00 am

swollen red legs can be a sign of a blood clot. I would call the Dr just to be safe. I had a blood clot when I was pregnant with my second baby. I ended up in the Hospital for two weeks. Better safe then sorry.

That't funny that you chose that link because I was hospitalized at Banner Desert in Arizona with the blood clot I just posted about :)

Yes on both legs. One leg was worse then the other though and they hurt pretty bad.

Hmm, guess I will call the answering service tomorrow if it isn't better, just to be sure.

i had that with my daughter but it happened because i had poor circulation in my feet and legs. i had poor circulation in my feet before i even got pregnant. i was also on nifed. to prevent early delivery and that kind of caused it. things like hot showers and not enough walking around can do that.

That happened to me. But it was from the sun. Like a allergic reaction to the sun. Not a sun burn. But i has some swellijg to. The doctors was dumb founded by it telling me it was not pregnancy related, but once I stayed inside the redness went away, once i stepped outside it came back. Very annoying. The doctor made me go to the hospital twice. They thought blood clots , but at the hospital I was told that u would not have blood clots in both legs. that its uncommon. which i thoughts weird. Cuz I'm sure its more than possible. But just call ur doctor I did n both times they made me be seen.

i think if i was in your position i'd head straight to the hospital just to make sure its nothing serious. esp being 38 weeks, just to be safe.
