Has anyone conceived suscessfully about 8mths - 1 year after having a complete molar pregnancy. If so how long did it take you. What are the odds of it happening again?! My DH and I are currently TTC but worried that we may have another molar pregnancy or m/c... i have had 5 m/c's and been pregnant with twins twice (including the time i had my molar pregnancy) I have one living child who will be three in feb.

Im just curious about others experiences with molar pregnancies and conceiving afterward.. please feel free to share anything.

aw thank you so much.. my experience was horrible and I don't know anyone IRL that has ever experienced this before and I just feel like I need someone to talk to.

I had never heard of this so I googled. I'm sure since you already went through this you know what it's all about but I found this one risk(in bold) interesting...
Things that may increase your risk of having a molar pregnancy include:

  • Age. The risk for complete molar pregnancy steadily increases after age 35.3
  • A history of molar pregnancy, especially if you've had two or more.4
  • A history of miscarriage.
  • A diet low in carotene. Carotene is a form of vitamin A. Women who don't get enough of this vitamin have a higher rate of complete molar pregnancy.3

Hmm i didnt know about the vitamin A thing. Thank you. And oddly enough I was only barely 20 at the time i conceived my molar pregnancy. It's rare.. but extremely rare to have twins that are fully formed and then the 3rd sac is the mole. I couldnt even find anything like this online, but this is what my doctor told me that happened.

That is so odd I have never heard of it! I'm sorry you had to go through all of that. Esp with twins:( But maybe the vit A will help ease your mind??
