Okay, so tonight will be my 5th night using Monistat 7 to clear up a YI that i had..So far the medicine is working really good at getting rid of the infection, the nasty discharge is gone and so is the itching, i was wondering if its a bad idea to have sex tonight before i use the next dose of medicine? I know the packaging says not to have vaginal intercourse but has anyone done it anyway and still was able to clear up the infection?? Just looking for some advice here. thanx

Iknow it sounds silly but when you have a YI you can pass it to your partner and they can pass it back to you.

If you want to get completely rid of it then I would def. not have sex while you still have a YI. You might get it again and I know it's miserable!

Why would you?

you know that yeast infections are contegious (sorry cant think of a better word).

That means if you have a yeast infection and are having sex the guy can keep it on his penis and give it back to you once the medicine is done.

Men actually can be carriers of yeast infections. They are one of the reasons you get them.

The biggest thing is that it could cause more harm to have sex while using the med :( Unfortunately, even though you probably feel a whole lot better...you are very tender inside and it may end up being very painful or getting overly irritated easily. Also, until you are completely finished with the med. there's a chance you can give the YI to your man  Even though men rarely get symptoms, if he gets it then it can be passed back to you and then the cycle starts all over again! If you are almost done, just try to tough it out.
Also if you aren't trying to get pregnant...it can cause latex condoms to break! Which would benot so good either :)

EDIT** I just noticed you are pregnant, so I guess you wouldn't have to worry about the condom part :) But I'm gonna leave that part there just in case someone else doesn't know that info! Hope you feel better soon...

Just wait it out ma! I didn't wait and ended up getting a HORRIBLE yeast infection to where I was screaming from the pain. Yeah, not fun. And yes, men can get yeast infections too!
