Is Health Dept Wrong? or the at home test? Loving&Hopeful Mommy Due June 21; 48 kids; Michigan 5 posts25th Oct '11
Friday the 21st I took 2 pregnancy test at home. I go to Health Dept on Monday the 24th at 10am to get a confirmed positive for I can start getting things in order due to 3 miscarriages in 2003-2004. The health dept's pregnancy test came out negative. I went home about an hour to 2 hours later and took another 1st Response pregnancy test and it came out positive.......... What do I do? I'm 7 days late on my cycle and I am a regular cycle woman of 27. My breast have been tender for a couple of weeks leading up to me taking the pregnancy test on Friday night.

There are false positives and negatives. I would go back in again and tell them that you got two pos.. results at home. Maybe request blood work.

I'd go to the doctor and ask for a blood test. That's just about the only way for you to know for sure. :)

If you've had 3 positives you're pregnant. The health departments test might have been faulty or just not sensitive enough. I'd go back and take your positive tests with you to show them and do another test.

I took 4 tests all together. After I took the first two, I went to the health department. They did a test, and it came back negative. Took two more test a week later, they were still positive. Maybe your just not for along enough for them to detect a positive. I went back like 2 weeks later, and got a positive.

I would go see you ob/gyn and get a blood test, that could tell you for sure. That is if you have one already. It sounds to me like the health department could be wrong, because I took 3 hpt with this one (I am now 18 weeks and 5 days) 2 were very faint first response tests and the 3rd was a clear blue digital, and when it came out positive, I called my ob/gyn right away and she had me come in for both a urine and a blood test, I just had a very bad miscarriage in April and it was also my 3rd so I wanted everything worked out very early as well. When the nurse did my urine test it was a very faint positive as well, like she almost didn't believe me when I told her I had 3 positive hpt. Then I did the blood test and they called to tell me that my hcg was at 69 which is definitely a positive test. I had to go back 2 days later and get more blood work, and my hcg was then 190 almost tripling, so they put me on progesterone supplements because mine was very low, and so far so good. I would just go see your ob/gyn or see if the health department could do a blood test instead. Those seem to always be more accurate. Best of luck to you :)

This happened to me, I took 2 first responses at home...positive. went to the Dr, negative. I was irritated went and got a clear blue digital. Positive...4 days later went in for a pee and blood test...positive on the pee. Never needed a call back for the blood. Lol and I was only a couple weeks then. But I took 9 tests and still didnt believe until i saw the little sac at 5 weeks. Good luck...sounds like ur preggo.
