I drew this up since I cant find any pre-made ones. This would work to carve in a pumpkin right?

Looks like it would. It might get dicey around the thin pieces, though. Good drawing. :D

The shaded part is to be removed, right?

Yea
Hopefully I can carve the skinny parts ..SO decided a pumpkin carving kit was a waste of money :?

It will, you'll just have to be careful. The pieces that are close together, will make the pumpkin wobbly.

Use a mix of bleach water everyday on the pumpkin starting with the thin pieces as soon as you are done. Spray the pumpkin daily. We did this last year and the thin pieces of our design never weakened. The pumpkin stayed hard and perfect. Do you have anywhere I can download this? My kids want to carve Jake, but I can't find a carve out anywhere!
