I feel like I have so many questions!! Anyways, I got my membranes swept yesterday morning at my drs appt. He told me I should expect more bleeding (his glove had blood on it) and all that good stuff. but how much is too much bleeding?
I lost parts of my plug ALLLLLL day yesterday with not so much bleeding other than light pink and brown. Now today, I have had blood clots (4 bathroom trips so far) that vary in size. When I wipe its a lot of blood usually with a little bit of clear mucus. I called L&D and she told me as long as my LO was moving fine and blah blah blah that I should be ok but if I wanted to come in I could. So my question is what exactly is normal after a membrane sweep? Im still having contractions which are 10m apart too.
I've honestly never had blood clots after a membrane sweep
just brownish tinge blood very light and mucus-y
Weird.. I never had clots but I did have "bloody show" which was bright red tinged mucus. I would honestly go in just to be safe. I've never heard of anyone passing clots... I had it done 3 times with my son, and it didn't do anything as far as labor goes. I just spotted. With my daughter, I lost my plug, had some light bleeding and cramping and that was about it. My sister in law had it done a few times as well and she never mentioned clots. It could be normal... who knows. I've never had that and I don't personally know anyone who has. Not to say that it doesn't happen... lol I don't know, but I do know that I would get it checked out just in case.
Personally after having my membranes swept and going into labor that night i was bleeding like a period. They had me walk and i had to wear a pad.

Ive been wearing a pad since yesterday because I get these like gooshes of mucus that comes out. Its more of the kind that I was describing in the OP, little bit of Clear with blood.
If you haven't already, I would go in. If it's enough to worry you, then it is enough for you to go get some stress relief about by getting answers. Babies feel stress, so don't let yourself worry when you could know whats going on :) Happy mommy, happy baby.
I had bleeding a clotting through active labour. Actually, just before I went to the hospital I had blood run down my leg :(. I had a membrane sweep when I was in early labour (we figured I would likely be induced due to health problems and wanted to reduce the risk of that). The bleeding was about 4 hours later (I can't remember for sure).
I was only at the hospital for about 2 hours before my son was born but I know the midwives were concerned about the blood. I'm sure that if I had been at home (like I had planned), they would have wanted me to transfer to the hospital.
My son was born in the tub and after he was born and I went to the washroom, I saw all the huge clots that were still in the tub (the water was drained and there were dirty towels in the tub as well, so I don't think I saw the extent of it).
When I asked my midwife about it a couple of weeks later, she said that the bleeding was 'abnormal'. I think she just didn't want to worry me. She couldn't tell me why though. I have no idea if it had anything to do with the membrane sweep.
Everything went very well though. My son was born perfectly and I had an amazing recovery.
Well ladies I had my little girl about 2 hours ago! I had my VBAC!!!:) I'm one happy mommy!
