light brown discharge... at end of pregnancy? Pistol Annie☆ 2 kids; Houston, TX, United States 12659 posts

I'm 36 weeks pregnant.. and starting this afternoon I've had a weird discharge... it's very light brown, almost like at the very end of a period? Wondering if it's the beginning of my bloody show or what? It doesn't stink or anything (TMI I know) but it's still weirding me out :/ It started after I did some pretty intense cleaning... I scrubbed all of the bathroom floors and bathtubs on my hands and knees.

I'm going to call my doctor tomorrow morning but just wanted to ask the babygaga professionals

it might be your mucus plug

Yeah I've been losing chunks of my plug for a while now... but this is the first time the discharge has been anything but milky white. Definitely freaked me out a little :/

It could be bloody show or mucus plug, i also have some colored discharge when i have a yeast infection, Next appointment id ask them to check and see if you have an infection, when i get them i dont have any symptons so you might not know till they check.

Oh my goodness, I've been having this today too! I had a doctor appointment yesterday and he checked my cervix as he always does so I'm wondering the same thing!! I know its not a yeast infection or anything like that and my discharge is normally a milky white too, but now it seems like its got a tiny hint of brown to it.. Kinda like it has a tiny bit of foundation color in it. Weird, but that's the only way I can explain it. I hope it means progress, I'm due in two days and might end up being indunced!

Fingers crossed for you! My doctor has expected me to go early so I wouldn't be shocked at all if this was the beginning of labor for me... I was a loose 2 last week and I definitely think I'm going to be further progressed this week. We shall see!

First baby? Makes it a little more slow to progress! Do everything you can to avoid induction... walk walk walk! Sex (if you can)... you don't want that yucky pitocin... it makes the contractions way more intense then they have to be!

Good luck hun :)

yeah, he's my first child.. my doctor said he doesnt want to start me with pitocin but start with cervadil instead because he wants to make sure ill progress and reduce the risk of c-section. he doesnt want to start pitocin until im at 3 cm. he said the cervidil may even jump start the labor on its own so if it comes down to me being induced then i hope the cervidil does it on its own.
