I'm really considering purchasing a baby hammock in place of a bassinet for my LO, unfortunately I don't know anyone who has used one. I want the Miyo hammock and wood stand but the husband thinks its kinda expensive especially cause shipping is up the ass since I have to order it from Europe. Anyone have any experiences with the Miyo one's or any brands for that matter??????

I saw one at once upon a child and it was just held together by Velcro straps and I do not think I could put a baby in it.

and it can't possibly be safe for a baby who is starting to roll around...seems like a suffocation risk to me....idk...not worth the 200$+ for only 2 months of use....in my opinion

I def think some are better than others obviously, sadly the only ones i can find in the U.S. look really cheap and don't have many reviews. Not really sure what the deal with that is... supposedly the miyo one can be used until around 6 months or so but ya who knows kinda sucks when you don't know anyone with one!!

I had one, and we loved it. It was an arms reach brand, and our babe slept in it great. She otherwise wouldn't sleep unless in mine or my hubs arms.

No, it's just for young babies... basically the first few months. It's supposed to be the closest thing to the womb and it still has a lil mattress.

i wouldn't do it if you have other kids too... they could get curious and look into the hammock possibly tipping it over....

I suggest a rock and sleep. I don't have one but if I knew about them I would have bought one over the Arm's Reach bassinet.

Really?!? I'll have to look into that one... don't think I've seen that brand yet, thanks for the suggestion!

To be honest I'm not even sure if they make it anymore. Have you looked into the Fisher-Price Rock N Play sleeper? It's pretty much the same thing, but its 40-70 dollars depending on design. I'm buying it for my littlest lovie for when she's out of the nicu.

if you want something to mimic being with mom...i would suggest this..and it has 5 point straps, so it is still safe once baby starts moving around. the price on this site is almost 100 more than i paid, but i bought it from a different store.
