My mucus plug came out , does this mean I'm going to go into xARLEYx Due December 1 (boy); Hawaii 68 posts

Yesterday I was peeing and then I had this really weird cramp , but I didn't think anything of it since it only lasted about two seconds maybe less . I wiped and it was slimy but clear , then again I was just thinking it was discharge or something . Maybe within an hour later I was sitting down in my room and I felt a gush come out . I don't feel when discharge comes out so I went to the bathroom to check , there was a lot of clear slimy stuff on my underwear . I called the doctor up today and she told me that my mucus plug came out . I only turned 36weeks today so I'm worried that my baby will be born too early :| Is it possible for my baby to still be born at 40 weeks or is labor imminent ?

You can actually loose your MP several times before you actually go into labor so no it is not imminent to labor.

I think you should find something to do for the next four weeks until the baby gets here.

You can lose pieces of your plug multiple times, weeks before going into labor.

'Cause I told all my friends on facebook and they were telling me that labor normally comes within 24hours (sometimes more) of loosing it . So I wanted to know if I FOR SURE was going to go into labor . My baby shower is this weekend and next weekend for both sides of the family and I seriously don't wanna be worrying about going into labor ! Haha , Plus I'm so scared my baby will be premature , I don't want him in the NICU :'(

Yeah I think your friends are wrong.. They are probably confused with your water breaking... Thats when you will usually go into labour within 24 hrs... not the Mucus Plug... Im sure you'll be close to or past your due date when he or she desides to show up :)

I read an article online that when your doctor checks your cervix that your mucus plug can come out . I don't know if I should trust all these articles just cause a lot of the times I find things that aren't true on the internet also . Is it true ? 'Cause my first cervix check was on Wed. then I lost my mucus plug on Thursday . So if it's true , then it's probably cause my doctor checked me .

if you think your water is leeking, you NEED to go to the hospital right away.

They are confusing losing your mucus plug with having your bloody show. Those are to separate things.

I know for sure that it wasn't my bloody show cause it was clear . My doctor said it's my mucus plug . I have another appointment on Monday , if too much comes out then I'll call her up but if not I'll wait til' Monday cause today nothing really came out but white discharge but only real little .
