I'm just curious as to how everyone that has already had their baby felt in the few days before labor?
I'm 38 weeks 5 days pregnant, & for the past few days I have just been feeling crappy. A lot more pressure, cramps, & diarrea. I honestly feel like I have to poop all the time, even though I don't. I have also been having more contractions, not regular; but becoming more painful. I've been having an upset stomach, & sometimes I will get light headed real quick & see little spots.& sometimes when I go to the bathroom, I will have wet spots on my underwear that don't smell like urine. Could it be that im leaking amniotic fluid?
This is my first pregnancy & im growing very impatient & ready to meet my little girl. & Im just wondering if this could mean labor is close?

I felt no different the day I went into labor than I did the weeks prior. I had the usual end of pregnancy issues but nothing that told me "Today is the day" I just started contracting regularly and realized.. oh hey... im having contractions better time them LOL

I had the aches and pains of pregnancy, that most have. I didn't feel like labor was coming at all. In fact I was only 2cm dilated during a Doctors appointment, then that night and early morning the next day I was in active labor. I went one week overdue.

Aside from feeling like a whale? The day before my water broke and I immediately went into labor I only felt a few random menstrual-like cramps here and there. Not a single one was noteworthy and I didn't think anything of them. They weren't even painful, just obnoxious. Other than that I can't remember feeling any different than I did throughout the rest of my pregnancy.

Think I did all that stuff you describe for about 6 weeks before labor. Right before labor I felt great and was about to go to sleep. 3.5 hours later I had a baby.

That fluid you are saying is leaking could be amniotic fluid or it could be your mucous plug. The day before I went into labor, my vagina felt...(and this is TMI and just the best way I can describe it) more open and juicy. Pretty much the opposite as it did during most of my pregnancy. It was very dry the whole time, until my mucous plug started slowly coming out. It started clear and like normal vaginal discharge. Then as I went further into labor, started having contractions and such it turned darker like mucous and started coming out in bigger and bigger globs. I also had several loose bowel movements. By that time I knew I was in labor.
You might feel like shit for a while before you deliver. I'm not saying it sounds like you are in labor. The feeling of having to poop all the time is just the pressure of your baby on your vagina and anus. The pressure and such is normal. It doesn't necessarily mean labor is close, but you will definitely feel more and more of it as you get closer to going into labor.

Yeah, I've read that all these symptoms can be present for like a month before labor. It's just getting me excited because they all started happening at once. Im just so ready to meet my little girl.:D

when i had my first baby i had loads of energy and did like everything. the day before i went into labor i pretty much went into nesting and the next day i went into the hospital and had my daughter an hour after getting there.without pain meds and it was amazing and went home the next day with her. i hope that it will be the same with this baby as well.

my babygirl stopped moving except for a few squirms at night and i also had bad diareah after everything i ate a few days before i went into labor. i also started getting bad back pains and more pressure down below. i felt super exhausted during the day and at night i would get a huge burst of energy and would to go for a long walk just to be able to tire myself out for bed. my whole pregnancy my mind felt like it was in a cloud but the night that i went into the hospital my mind was super alert and was wired like i drank 10 cups of coffee.

As for the loose stools, it's because your body won't poop until you're healed enough not to lose your uterus when you go. It's just another neat thing our bodies do to make this easier for us.

As for the feeling like crap? I got a viral cold right before I went into labor, and it ended up turning into a severe rash that no one could figure out. The best thing I could figure out, that since rashes like that aren't contagious, but coughs are, my body was protecting my newborn.

The day of, I woke up feeling as though the baby was coming that day. I never had regular contractions, even while I was pushing. I never had any of the regular signs, just a feeling. Earlier in the day, I felt as though I should "take care of stuff" so I finished the laundry, washed dishes, and made sure my husband was on his way home (he was driving 7 hours).

So that was my experience right before I went into labor. Just a feeling. I didn't have the loose stools, though, but I was never constipated through my pregnancy. Hope this helps! :)

I took about 6 showers the day before my water broke. I don't know why I just felt...weird. Plus hot showers are calming to me, hell I still take 2 showers a day thanks to pain im always in now with this one. I get the feeling I wont be pregnant much longer with this one either. A ton of pressure, i can time my contractions throughout the day, my lower back is so damn tight and sore and something just doesn't feel right....

Hang in there. The pooping all the time could be your body cleansing it self. I did the same thing with my first. The night before I went into labor my bm was nothing but clear looking seeds. And to find out if your water is leaking, take off all your clothes from the waste down. If you have a continual flow or if when you move something comes out, your water is leaking. Call you doctor and let them know! that is the first sign that labor is on its way! Mine leaked with my second and about an hour after i got to the hospital my water broke. Bounce on that huge exercise ball they offer you. That helped to break my water for sure. Good Luck
