i know NOTHING about candle making, so i was just gonna buy a whole bunch of regular white candle sticks and melt them down, then fill the cups.

can i use food coloring to dye them a different color...or will that like... cause fire deaths or something.

You need an oil based dye, you can melt crayons in...but the color wont be very strong with just one, you have to use a bunch of crayons...

Hobby Lobby has candle dye, though.

At Michael's or Hobby Lobby you can get a wax making kit and I think they come with coloring things. I'm not sure I just know I've seen them when we were getting our wedding invitations from there and some crafty gifts for our nieces and nephews.

My dad used to use crayons to color his wax, and recycle old candles too

It was a fun family project all the time

He even figured out how to get them to crack just on the surface in pretty awesome patterns
