I have this toothache that started yesterday and it slowly got worse and worse through out the day. Now im in like agonizing pain, I cannot sleep Im curently writing this post because I could not sleep and its 5 in the AM. It literally feels like a dentist a currently working on them non stop. The pain has gone from one tooth to the entire right side of my mouth and radiates up towards my head giving me a horrible headache on only the right side of my head. The pain is so horrible Im desperate! Tylenol does not work for m what so ever, Im even lucky if it'll stop the headache at the least. I've tried tylenol, warm salt water, hot compress, cold compress, nothing is working! Does anyone know what I can do for the time being until I can get to a dentist? Please help!

I felt the EXACT same while waiting for my root canal, nothing helped.
But sister told me about 'clove oil' its at the drug store, it taste like GARBAGE, but it works, for two straight days I had no more pain, when I hurt, I just put it on again.

I had a tooth abscess when I was 36 weeks pregnant with my first, it was the most god awful pain in the world :( The only thing that gave me any sort of relief was a burning hot compress on the side of my face where the tooth was, and extra strength listerine. I actually ended up going to the ER where I was prescribed antibiotics and T3's for pain (I was paranoid and only took half a pill to dull the pain enough to sleep). It took about a week to feel better.

Clove oil can be a uterine stimulant, so not good for a pregnant mama. Though, I do agree that it works well.

Is the clove oil safe for pregnancy? And how does it need to be applied? Im desperate to try anything even if tastes like shit lol. I just tried to gargle with warm salt water but there was no salt.... I had to use margarita salt LOL

My pain is coming from a tooth that has a pretty bad hole/cavity. I've tried hot compresses & dont have any mouth wash on hand but doubt it'll help. My mouth is too sensitive for mouth wash :( The pain was so horrible a couple hours ago I had to take a T3 but ended up getting so nauseated from it I just threw it up. My SO wanted to take me to ER or triage but I felt too embarrassed to go.

Mouth wash is an anti-septic, so it helps to clean and numb. T3's make me sick to my stomach too.. try taking only half? Also, if need be, go to the ER there's no reason to be embarrassed if you're in that much pain. A lot of hospitals have on-call dentistry too.

Its because I have several cavities that are super sensitive to mouth wash, same goes for certain toothpastes. When I took the T3 I took a whole one because I knew half wouldn't do anything for how bad my toothache is. I'm too afraid to attempt taking another one, even if its half :( Throwing it up makes me feel so bad, like thats how bad it was for the baby I couldnt even keep it down. I know my SO was saying the same thing, Im stubborn! And I already have two ER bills so I cant risk getting another one :(

The only other suggestion I have is a product called kanka, it like coats and sticks so I found it worked a lot better than orajel or ambesol. Have you called and gotten into a dentist yet? I know mine wouldn't see me at 36 weeks which is why I had no choice but to go to the ER.

you apply it with a q tip, trust me, you're not drinking it or bathing in it, for the tiny amount you'd use...I would not worry about going into labour over it.

Orajel made it 10x worse, do you think the kanka would do the same? I haven't called yet cause it just started yesterday night. Ugh I hope I can get seen, I'm 32 weeks :/

Ive been dealing with the same thing since maybe we 24ish. I've had to have 3 teeth pulled already since being pregnant. Another one has to come out, and I have a choice of 3 root canals, or remove those 3. Im getting them out. Ive been in so much EFFING pain, daily. OB dental clearance note says its okay to have percocet or demerol for pain. As for the nausea from pain meds, try not taking them on an empty stomach, and take Zantac 75 mg, maybe 30 minutes before you take the T3. Should help prevent some nausea. Oragel and the similar have not given me any type of relief. Its the inside of the tooth causing my pain, deep. No mouthwash helped. No clove oil helped. NOTHING. No tylenol. No hot or cold helps. It SUCKS. If the pain is coming from it being abscessed, an antibitoic will relieve alot of the pain. I have a consult with the oral surgeon for friday, and honestly, if im still hurting this badly later, im going to the ER. Im 36 weeks, and this is some BS.
