Strong contractions but they are not getting closer together Candyce Rembert 1 child; Texas 17 posts

hello I am 39 weeks and 5 days pregnant. My daughter is due this Saturday. I started out having Braxton Hicks Contractions 3 days ago, I was having them every 20 minutes. They where not painful at all. Right around the 24 hour mark they started to become a little painful.Yesterday morning, when I woke up I had started to lose my mucus plug, I went to see my midwife and she told me that I was having real contractions now but they were to far apart (10 minutes) and I was barely 1 cm dilated. I went back home. Now it is the following morning and I lost more of my mucus plug. I am in massive pain. My contractions are barely bearable. I can not sit or lay through them anymore. I have been just speed walking through them. I think it distracts me more then relieves pain. I am somewhat sleeping through the night. When they are really strong they wake me up and I just try to breathe through them as best as I can.
My problem is that even though they are getting stronger they are not closer together. Still about 10 minutes apart. My midwife said to come back when they are 5 minutes apart for a hour but I am not sure what to do if they continue to get stronger but they stay at 10 minutes apart.

Btw, I am walking, taking baths, drinking lots of water and breathing through them, I have tried to sitting laying and standing and nothing is making me dilate I have not had sex since the contractions started because they are so strong it hurts and I am really sore and sensitive down there.
I just do not think I can go anymore days like this I need advice!!

try taking a hot shower to help with the pain of the contractions hopefully soon they will get closer together. If you don't think you can stand it much longer than it never hurts to go back to the hospital maybe they will keep you but if you can just stay at home alittle longer and use hot shower or bath to help with the pain.

you can always go to the doctor and have him/her check to see how far you've dilated and if you're still not where you need to be you could go back home, that way you dont have to be in the hospital!! Regardless of what your doctor said about not coming back until they are 5 mins apart, they arnt the one in labor so do what feels right to you!! You are after all paying them, they are there to just get you through the process! Good luck!! Can't wait to be at this point myself.

well, i have been between 13-9 minutes apart since the night of Dec 6th. Yesterday I was barely 1cm. i just do not see how i can become more dilated if they are not getting closer, only stronger. I was thinking to give it until tomorrow and if nothing then i will try to go back in.

i had my water broken and i had my daughter Dec 10th at 10:55 pm CT

She was sunny side up...(her head was facing the wrong way). Luckily I did not have to have a C-section. I had an amazing doctor. It took me 4 days to get from 1 cm to 5cm and then another 12 hours to get to 10cm but I only had to push for 1 hour and a half.

I would have your midwife check to see if you are dilating. My sister delivered both of her kids with her contractions coming around 10 minutes apart.
