pooping with perineal stiches Monster Max and Destry's 1 child; Xenia, Ohio 6277 posts

I got a continuous stitch in my perineum.. and one on my urethra. I don't know why but I am having a hard time pooping. I feel like I have to but my body won't let me relax too get it out. I'm scared that its going to hurt or rip my stitches out. How do I get myself to relax to poop? And also how do I clean my vaginal area? It's not too sore but I feel like if I try to wash it with soap and water its going to irritate it. I spray it with the bottle when I pee and pat dry, and when I shower the water runs down that Way.. but Idk if its getting clean enough. I feel like I should know this because I've been through it before but I forget.

stool softeners! even if you don't feel like you need them it helps a ton, and tucks for clean up(and healing!) down there..

I have had the perineum stitches twice.
1st try stool softnors. It will just be easier for 1.
also it WILL NOT tear your stitches. if anything it will throb after and be a little painful or very but that is from the pressure (which is why I said do a stool softnor).
As for cleaning.
I did the spray bottle. Some woman add a little squirt of dial antibacterial soap to it and shake then spray, then pat with a wet warm washcloth untill you feel clean.
Also you may have to rince the washcloth and do another pat down or empty the water bottle and put just clean water only and rinse and pat so you get the soap off. Kinda a pain but it works.

Yeah. I feel like such a wuss, I can go through all natural delivery but when it comes to pooping and stitches I'm a big baby. I'm going to try the soapy water. What stool softeners work best?
