Last night LO was screaming in her sleep and it was so hard to wake her up. This has happened before and I feel horrible. I think she may have had a nightmare. Has this happened to anyone else?

i havent been on in awhile and everythings changed! weve had a rough few days over here. Lo had an ear infection, probably his 3-4th one this year but this time he broke out in a really bad rash. Doctors think he had a reaction to the meds but hes never done this before on it so now im all confused. he didnt eat much for the past few days but tonight he seemed like his mac n cheese :)

Easton woke up Monday night with a barking cough( sounded like a seal barking tbh) and sleepy maybe three hours that night. His sleep was crappy all week and the cough started to get worse but not worrysome. However Thursday night I went to check on him before bed and he sounds like what my husband described as a 'walker' from the Walking Dead. It freaked me out so I woke him up. I sat in the rocking chair with him all night to keep him in an upright position .

Well yesterday morning, I'm watching him as We're coming back in from getting sophia off to school, and he's gasping for breath, his lips are turning purple and his chest is sucking in almost beneath his ribs. I flew him over to emergency and they checked him over , did an x ray and gave him shots to bring down the swelling. Apparently croup in its most severe cases caused the airways to swell so much they can close which is what was happening to him.
I seriously have never been more terrified in my life. I figured he'd had croup but I'm shocked how fast it escalated.
Needless to say, I refused to put him in his crib last night and sat up with him again so that is know he was still breathing.
He has his voice back today(for the most part) and you can't even hear him breath it's so quiet. Cough is still nasty though.

OMG!! I would have been too terrified to let LO do anything. I'm happy to hear he's better. Did they give you anything for his cough?
