So in Indiana ( not sure about any where else ) if you have Medicaid they will give you 1 free Car Seat per child..

I was just wondering if anybody has ever got one thru Medicaid?
I know a few people who have, but I need some more information.

I think that's only if you need a car seat I could be wrong. I had medicade with my youngest and I didn't get a carseat. I'm not 100% on that one.

I've never heard of that.
I have heard of WIC doing that, though. They gave two to my (ex) friend, one for each of her kids.

Maybe it is Wic?
I really need to do some research.

They will only give you one per child, so they tell you it's best to wait until the 2nd Car Seat because they are more expensive & in them a lot longer.

Yeah, I dunno about Medicaid but I'm certain WIC does it. I'm on WIC, too, and they have a bulletin board in the office that lists all the services they offer. They had a piece of paper up there that said that they'll give you one free car seat per child if you take a class, you just have to ask them about it and they'll give you all the info. Like I said, my old friend did that because she couldn't afford car seats and they gave her one for her son and one for her daughter.
That's here in Florida, though. Maybe it's different in other places.

:!:
I live in Indiana and WIC should give free ones.

OP, I would call around and ask.
The only other program that I know of was through St. Vincent's hospitals and it's called the B.A.B.E. program.

Sounds legit to me. Fireman really are certified to install seats. We took our son's up to a firehouse when we first bought his Saftey 1st Complete Air seat and could NOT figure out how to get it in RFing.
