itching while pregnant? ChristinaBink Due July 6 (boy); East Peoria, Illinois 67 posts

Two questions...

1. Is is true that if you itch your stomach while pregnant..does that mean you are more susceptible to strech marks?
I have none now and i am 14 weeks but my stomach is very itchy and i am afraid to scratch it because i dont want any strech marks. I have used coco butter and it seems like it works for for me only half the time.

2. Is it true that if you are itchy while pregnant, does it mean that you are going to have a boy vs a girl?
either way it doesnt matter to me i was just wondering.

Help : (

1. No. But you can cause scratches, so use lotion. If you are meant to get stretch marks, you'll get them itchy or not.
2. No.

I'm not sure if the scratching causes stretch marks, I've heard the same thing but I honestly don't think scratching will make them appear.

For the itching I'd increase my water intake and use fresh aloe to relieve the itch.

I have no idea about the stretch mark thing, cause I had some before I started itching. And personally cocoa butter didn't work at all for me. I tried like 4 different kinds and used it 3 times a day and still got em.... So I gave up on it! As for the sex thing I don't think it means your having a boy cause I'm having a girl... Lol

Maybe the itchiness is the skin stretching and strech marks appearing? Because I've heard the same thing. But you're either going to get them or not.

I have no idea about the boy vs girl itching. Never heard it before.

omg now that you mention it, when i had my girls my skin was smooth and nice and golden, when i had my boys it was dry scaley and itchy, thats how my skin is now and with all other evidence i think itll be a boy...so maybe it is a sign of a boy.
