I was told by a friend that supposedly after you have your mirena removed you have a 60% chance of becoming pregnant with twins if you get pregnant within the first month.

I'm just wondering if any of you ladies had heard that as well?

I don't see why that would be true, however my friend has 2.5 year old twins conceived ON Mirena ;)

I don't see how. Mirena doesn't affect your ovulation, correct? It just makes the uterus unfavorable for pregnancy.

No. I got pregnant. One baby. Lost it.

I don't advise anyone trying to get pregnant so soon after getting mirena out, just bc of what has happened to me and others on this site.

nope, never heard that, but I did hear that you should wait for at least one period before trying so yours walls will become thick again. I heard of a lot of woman miscarry after becoming pregnant within the 1st month of taking it out. It took 4 months for me to become pregnant after I got mine out. Got it out in March and got pregnant in July.

That's what it is suppose to do. But since it doesn't prevent ovulation, I see women getting pregnant on it left and right.

I had mine removed the 28th of dec.. have yet to have AF, but I haven't had AF since before I got pregnant with my daughter in July 08. When I left the hospital after having her they gave me depo April 09, and then I got mirena in Dec. 09.

It does prevent ovulation. It has hormones.
You're thinking of paragard.
mirena makes unfavorable and USUALLY no ovulation

And I'm just saying it says that in MOST cases it DOESN'T prevent ovulation. Which is why women are getting pregnant on it so often, IMO.

I'm going to say that's not the case for me. Infact I had my mirena removed almost 2 years ago and I still haven't become pregnant. It's differenet for everyone.

It was 17 days after I got my mirena out that I got my period. But everyone is different..Good Luck!
