Side of Ovulation and Gender T-jay_SSW 2 kids; Ontario 263 posts

So I know that it is scientifically proven that the gender of the baby is dependent on the sperm of the father - which reaches the egg first (male or female)..

However, My grandmother had her left ovary removed before having my uncles and father and was told "oh you'll only be able to have boys with your right ovary" by her doctor at the time. Now I understand this is an OWT (old wives tale) but I am curious to know (for those that already know gender or know what side they ovulated the egg from to create their baby) what side and what gender they conceived... Please participate in my poll IF you know what side you ovulated on and what gender you have (or had if this is a previous pregnancy result).

I ovulated this baby from my right ovary (was told I have a c/l cyst on it so i guess that's the ovary that let the egg go) but am only 8 weeks so do not know gender yet - I have no idea what side I ovulated on with my son.

i spelled it right out for you, i don't understand why you don't understand.

IF you know what side you ovulated from when you conceived your child (which i am assuming you do not, by your post) what was the sex of the baby?

Unless you have one removed how do you really know which side it came from?

Calm down killer. I just don't know how you tell which side you ovulated from, unless you're minus one. BUT as eggs only carry the x chromosome, I don't see how it would matter which side it came from.

Some people have painful ovulations and can easily tell what ovary the conceived their child from. OR the dr/ultrasound tech flat out tells then. OR they are told which side their corpeus luteum cyst has formed on ( if forms on the ovary that let your now fertilized egg go.

I haven't ever had anyone tell me which side I ovulated from and I have had 10 ultrasounds with this pregnancy alone. I will be asking about this on Wednesday at my next ultrasound though.

I never knew I had them until I actually started tracking my cycles when TTC this babe. You have to be paying attention to it unless you apparently have cysts and then the pain is almost unbearable I hear.

I have painful ovulations and have been given multiple internal/external ultrasounds to check for cysts and have never had one in my entire life - except a C/L cyst which is part of pregnancy.
