Stomach virus at 38 weeks!!?! MamaNikSoInLove Due February 3 (girl); 1 child; Strattanville, Pennsylvania 954 posts

Well the food poisoning we thought my hubby had ended up being something quite contagious. (obv not food poisoning). Soo last night both my head and butt have become quite friendly with the toilet. During the sickness process my tummy was in such pain, enough that I couldn't breathe through it. Called ob and they were concerned I'd force myself into labor with the vomiting and stomach spasms, but to just drink fluids and monitor myself. I hate being that nagging person calling the doc for everything but if I didn't have a baby in my belly I'd wait it out, but I don't know how this affects her.. Anyone else get a similar sickness so late in pregnancy??

I had a bad stomach virus at 35 weeks. The nurse I called advised me to try Dramamine. It is a motion sickness medicine and safe to take during pregnancy. It fixed everything!! I felt so much better. I had horible stomach pains, took the dramamine, pain went away, woke up 2 hrs later and was starving and could eat!

But I belive the vomiting started contractions for me. I was checked at 35 weeks 5 days and was 3 cm and delivered my son at 36 weeks 2 days. He was healthy.

We have the same due date! and YES I was just in the hospital last week for the SAME exact thing! They thought I had food poisoning til everyone else in the house got it too! Vomiting and diahrrea made me have HORRIBLE contractions and they were afraid it was going to make me start real labor so they made me stay in the hospital and hooked me up to monitors and an IV to avoid dehydration... that SUCKED!

One of my friends did. I was staying with her at her house her whole pregnancy and I remember probably around 29 weeks she had a horrible stomache virus. Don't be afraid to talk to the docs, you are supposed to ask a million questions lol I am 6 weeks and had the stomach flu a couple days ago. Same thing, I was sitting ON the toilet throwing up into a bowl bc my head and my bottom wanted to do the same thing at the same time. It sucks so bd, especially since you are already feeling like crap since youre pregnant. I hope you feel better momm!

So I'm assuming you avoided labor!! That's good news, I really want her to stay in that belly a little longer!! Yes it is awful!!! My 2 year old has been a saving grace handing mommy that trash to get sick in.. He's too cute!! He says "it's okay mommy" (he caught it from hubby and then when I was up with him all might I got it from him)

Thanks ladies.. I was real nervous because my active gal became inactive for hours and hours but I finally felt movement after her 9 hour sabbatical.

Thanks ladies!!!
