My mom also did. She was a very wealthy woman, but enjoyed the look. She reused them after she bought them filled with other type of food. I see nothing wrong with it, I guess that's why I like them so much.

I think you should add some wrapped bags of chocolates, adding chocolate will be amazing and it will be more impressive with mason jar using combination of chocolates. Try it would be fun.
