Shit when I was working for a hotel I'd work 16 hours and get in TROUBLE for going outside on smoke breaks or sitting down in the back office after ordering a meal.

We got no breaks, but in this economy at least I had a job.

OH NO THEY WANT YOU TO PAY FOR FOOD.

Quoting packersgirl + 3:" Did anyone point out yet that she must really be a horseshit accountant if she had to take a job slinging burgers during tax season??"

What I have been wondering all along. Why did she have to leave accounting and why couldn't she get hired anywhere else? not even H&R Block?

Job market sucks sure... but if she would explain in plain English - I'd probably feel more compassion instead of banging my head against a wall for her lazy attitude and "wannabe gangsta" talk.

Doth protest to much.

LOL this is funny. I worked at McDs for 4 years, 15-19. Yea it was hard work, but it was a JOB. Now I'm a nurse and I work 12.5 hour overnight shifts. I'm lucky if I get a break. And guess what I clean up vomit, shit, and loads of other secretions too.

I know this has gone on for 19 pages, but ill go ahead and put my two cents in. One, if you dont want the damn job then leave there is someone out there that would love your job and two on your feet, are you kidding me. Let me guess you want that job that people mooch off tax payers by sitting at home all day and getting that wonderful check in the mail every month? Welcome to the working life and enjoy it because there are people out there that would die for your job! suck it up because at the end of the day you are going to get a pay check to pay your damn bills.

Hunny its a fast food RESTAURANT, what did you expect?. Standing, walking fast, cleaning, refilling(cups, lids, straws, napkins, etc)is all to be expected in a restaurant. Working in a RESTAURANT is NOT like a desk job, wayyy far from it. But if I was you and needed money I'd stick to it, bc your feet will get use to it and it wont be so bad. You are new at this so it will take time getting use to but you gotta suck it up and just be appeciative that YOU have a JOB :) But if the job pisses you off so much that you feel the need to complain, quit, there are 100's of people just waiting/needing a job, and will think ,"A job is better than NO job.!"

hang on didn't there used to be another girl on here that was BROKE but refused to work in a fast food restaurant because it was 'beneath' her?

Eh. Most likely. We came to the conclusion that their writing styles are very similar. Plus, they have that "I'm too good" attitude.

Stick it out.
I used to work a 12 hour third shift factory job.
BK is a breeze compared to that.

Omg...this is the very first forum this long that I didn't get through every page without having to stop bc someone pisses me off so bad. 1) Be grateful for the job you have! You are an ungrateful little witch who probably spent all her life spoiled by everyone around you! Everyone has said this and I'm gonna repeat it. If you need me to type slowly, that's what I'll do...there are millions of people who would give anything to have a "low class" job at BK including me. BUT the economy here sucks majorly and they get to pick and choose who they want EVEN though I have a lot of waitress/cashier experience and am good at what i do.Sometimes they end up with brats like YOU who don't even deserve the scummy job you are doing! So yes, I am very much offended that you think those that don't get hired are losers when you clearly are one even though you have a job. 2) poor you for having to stand on your feet...I actually was having sympathy for you up until you started in about the bathrooms. PLEASE you are NOT special. Everyone has to clean the bathrooms at some point in their life. Build a bridge and GTFO it! You are learning the value of HARD work princess. It's not all roses and sunshine. And I'm sorry that you are used to easier work but you are in the real world now and this is what people have to do to support their kids. Your kids should be the ONLY thing that matters and when you go to work every day and hate the job you are in, you should feel pride that you are taking care of them on your own! My husband and I have both been without an steady income for two years now and he just recently took a job...guess what? In the kitchen of a freaking nursing home! Not the job he wants but hey...our kids are the most important thing in our lives and he is doing it bc he loves us. Can you say as much about your own children? Do you truly love them if you won't even work at BK to support them? I think not...or you have a seriously messed up version of love. And I am SO grateful that we have money again...and don't have to live off the government bc there is no PRIDE in that. There shouldn't be shame but it's bc of welfare hoes that everyone looks down on people that are on government assistance. I got news for you too honey...quit your job...get on TANF and I guarantee you won't be living off it for long bc the rules are so much more strict these days. They actually make you get off your butts and LOOK for work and you have to take the first job offered to you regardless! We did applications 40 hrs a week...every day all day looking for work and I'm telling you what...I would much rather just have a job and put up with the crap than filling out applications all the time and wasting gas cause either way...you are WORKING for the money you are given.

I can however relate about the food thing bc especially before you get paid and have no money, its hard to be around that food and not get to eat anything. But sometimes you just gotta stick it out. I've learned to go days without eating so it really doesn't bother me too much anymore. But anywhere you go regardless, you will probably have to pay something...maybe get discounts on food but you will still be paying for your food. I have only worked at two places that actually gave us free food while we were on the clock.

I had to laugh at this post. I worked at Sonic from 16-18yrs old. I still did 10-14 hour days while I was PREGNANT and was on my feet the entire time. You're bitching about 7 1/2 hours?

Or try being a CNA, working up to 16 hr shifts, getting puked on, spit on, punched, yelled at etc.

You have 3 kids. Get over it and suck it up.
