Pimple or boil on vagina lip ♥ ILU ♥ 1 child; Redding, Connecticut 3317 posts

I just noticed it last night, It's not herpes. But it's a pimple like bump (no direct head) and its swollen and hurts extremely bad when sitting on a hard chair, touching it, wiping it, and walking. I couldn't stand it being that swollen so I lanced it and it was filled with puss.

Just wondering what this could be exactly. Can you even get boils like this on your vagina? And could it be staph or something like that? How would I know. (I can't get into the doctors for at least the next 2 weeks)

Is there anything I can do for the pain/discomfort besides just tylenol or advil?

You can get boils anywhere. My mom used to get bad ones on her butt,
I think an ice pack would probably be the only thing to take the edge off, have you called your dr?

Hot compresses as hot as you can stand. It should help to bring it to a head.

Yes you can, and are usually caused by ingrown hairs. Try having salt baths, that will help with clearing any infection out. But you can use ice packs to help with pain. Once some of the pus is released the pressure should start to ease off. You may have to redo that though a couple of times to keep releasing the pus and pressure.

yea. Shes not in today so I can't talk to her directly but she's booked for the next two weeks. =/

SO had MRSA like a lil less than a year ago and I always worry (they don't think it really left his system just isn't active) about that.

It might. Those things get full of a ton of gunk.
It might help draw more shit out, too.
I usually have to pop them more than once before all that nasty is out. Lol.
They feel infinity better once it's all out though.

Some ingrowns stay like in an almost dormant state... It happened to me. It's like it's fine being ingrown and the hair can grow fine and suddenly it will get a little infected. I stop getting waxed for about a year after I had my son and I found ingrowns even months later.

yea.. def but it hurts soo much worse now though. I didn't even notice it until early this morning with SO was trying to do something and he brushed up against it and it was sooo painful so we popped it and now it hurts when I do anything.. I'm in soo much pain sitting in class and its really distracting. I think I may get out of my class class (just presentations anways) and go home and try the heat pack and take a nap.

Yep, but to make sodium chloride (normal saline - the stuff dr's and nurses use etc) you need to add 1tsp to every litre of water. So you have to put a fair amount of salt in the bath. So I would run to the supermarket and pick up a big pack, then it will always be there if you need it. Even if you have shaved, you can get ingrown hairs. Your pubic hairs come from square opening follicles which is what makes them curly, but you can have up to 3-4 hairs coming from the one follicle. If its not an ingrown hair, its just a boil, and the best place for them to develop is nice warm moist areas - the areas that hurt like f**k. lol

MRSA actually never leaves your system. it's always going to be there.

and if it's a boil, which it probably is, it was likely caused by an ingrown hair like everyone else said. you'll have to get the core out of it or it'll keep coming back.
