Nuvaring Questions Mother of Broccoli. 1 child; California 12595 posts

I guess this is kinda of a gross question, but how far does it have to go in?
I need to be on birth control. I was taking the pill but the price was raised and I would really like something cheaper. From what I know, my insurance covers the cost of nuvaring more so than the pill.
Anyways.
I get the whole concept of it, I guess it'd be easier than the pill? Since having B tampons have not been my friend, so I'm skeptical about trying nuvaring.
As for taking it out, is it difficult? I don't really want to be digging up there lol.
And lastly, if you have used/are using it, how do you like it? What's your period like?

TIA

I LOVED the nuvaring, but I was allergic to it. I spent 4 months with hives, head to toe, before realizing that's what they were from.

When I put it in I didnt push it in very far but it kind of worked its way back farther. As far as getting it back out- idk why but EVERY month by the day it was supposed to come out- it had worked its way to the front and was hanging almost out so it was really easy to grab. If its hard to grab though bc its too far up there, I would sit on the toilet seat and bear down and that usually made it move downward. Or I would have SO fish it out lol bc I have long fingernails

Yeah, I was really bummed out about it because it was the first birth control I truly loved, lol.

I used a tampon applicator to put mine in... but as long as it's in the vagina, it will work.

As for taking it out, it's super easy. A quick in and out lol

I was on it for about +6 months (not sure how long probably longer) I liked it sometimes I LOVE the concept but for some reason when I had sex it would pinch me (on the inside) yea it wasn't fun it was like if i didn't put it in EXACTLY the right position it would annoy the hell out of me but for the time I was on it only happened a few times so i decided it wasn't for me :(

I liked the simplicity of it..you didn't have to remember to take it everyday, etc..but it gave me such horrible mood swings, i would snap at anyone and everyone all day long. it also made me bleed a lot..still trying to get over the effects from it, but, i took it out one month ago, so hopefully they go away soon. but it's different for everyone! so i say take a whirl at it! i really liked it other than the mood swings lol.

Yeah I like how simple it seems. I hope it works good for me! I had no problems with the pill so hopefully this works out or I'll have to fork over everything I own each month :P
