Charlie horse in my BUTT? !!Katie!! 1 child; Tennessee 2794 posts

WTF?!? Ok , I know it sounds kinda funny, but I assure you it's not! I know that those nasty calf and leg cramps are common during pregnancy , but I have neeeveer heard about having them in your butt! I got off the couch to get a drink , and as I walked down the hallway my left butt cheek started tightening up...I didn't pay it a whole lot of mind at first...this hasn't been a great few days and I've been having weird things go on everywhere (not to mention nausea , which I didn't even really have in the 1st trimester...I thought I was lucky...maybe not) . It became impossible to ignore, just moments after the tightening started the terrible gut wrenching cramp kicked in. The worst part about it, is there is nothing you can do but rub it and try and walk! At least with the leg cramps straightening out your leg and pointing your toes seems to stop it...but there is nothing you can do about a charlie horse in the butt! I hopped around the house for a few minutes , and JUST as I was about to wake my husband and ask him to rub my butt (lol) it started easing up. I REALLY hope this doesn't start happening frequently , it's awful! Anyone ever had this?

LOL oh man...

It sucks but the cramping that causes charlie horses can cause cramps anywhere. I was getting cramps in my arms, stomach, neck, chest, butt in the 2nd trimester. Thankfully I haven't had much of that in the 3rd trimester.

Drink lots of water and make sure you are getting enough potassium.

Quoting Kansas Sunshine:" LOL oh man... It sucks but the cramping that causes charlie horses can cause cramps anywhere. I was ... [snip!] ... I haven't had much of that in the 3rd trimester. Drink lots of water and make sure you are getting enough potassium."

You know, I think I've been too worried making sure I got everything else I needed - I haven't been thinking too much about the potassium. *Smacks myself on the head*. I guess I should go out and get some bananas! It's funny (well, not really) I didn't have many preg issues at all in my 1st trimester, I think I was only sick two or three times...a little bit of back pain , but that went away fast. I'm 18 weeks now , and I've been sick on and off almost every day, tired , crampy , gassy and about everything else you can think of lol Not to mention my hormones are going nuts and making me pissed off most of the time. I thought 2nd trimester was supposed to be the easiest? Not in my case I guess

Ohh...and a charlis horse in your neck!!! No thank you! That sounds awful:!:

I have the SAME pains in my left butt cheek!! lol (but not funny!!) It started before i found out i was pregnant, and now that i'm in my 2nd trimester, it has gotten worse. When I stand up off the couch or when i bend over seem to be the times when it kicks in. I came to the internet to search for answers with it and i'm relived to find out that i'm not the only one.
Funny thing is, i woke up this morning craving banana muffins...they're cooking right now actually...lol. Hopefully that will help...good luck to you ladies!!
