Fetal Heart Rate and Gender... Chandler Tatham Due March 10 (boy); 1 child; USA 96 posts

I was just wondering if you all could share your experience on this topic?
DH and I are REALLY hoping for a girl, I know they say the higher HR its more likely a girl, and lower, a boy. But with our son, his HR was always in the 160's and this baby (don't find out gender until end of may) has been between 140-150.... anyone else have lower fetal HR and have a girl? We of course just want a healthy baby, but a girl would be nice :)

Just another old wives' tale... just like how high/low you're carrying, heartburn equaling hair, and a hundred other ones...

With my first daughter HR was always around 142. This time around, having another girl, HR is always in the 150's.

They did a study that disproved this. The heartrates only differed by something like 1/4 of a beat and it was the boy's that was higher. I researched it when I was pregnant with my son, lol.

My son's was always 167 and my daughter's always sits in the 140s.

There is actually truth behind heartburn and hair.

I hope so again this time. I had a lot of heartburn with my first daughter and she had tons of hair. The heartburn is a lot worse this time around. Hoping she has tons of hair then too :)

Yeah, it's not true for everyone.. but there was some study done about it.

I had killed heartburn with my first, and she was bald until well after her 2nd birthday. I hardly had heartburn with my second, and when we had her at 36w, she had more hair than her sister by far. So who really knows.

It didn't hold true for me! Both my boys were born with lots of hair - I had zero heartburn with my first and only a little acid reflux with my second. I've had heartburn with this one, though, so I'm hoping the different symptoms indicate a girl, lol!
